This place is great. It's centrally located (Bay & Bloor) and the food is awesome. You can also get Dinner & a Movie deals which are great. Purchase an entree and your movie is only $7. Can't go wrong.
Bloor Street Diner is located right in the Manulife Centre and is great to hit up for dinner and a movie (They have a great deal if you buy an entree you can get a movie ticket for cheap). I love the fact that they have a more pub style side to the restaurant as well as a nicer side if you want something a little fancier. Decent prices. Good Food. Nice Atmosphere!
Food is good, patio is great in the summer. Its right inside the Manulife Centre on Yonge and Bloor. I found it a little pricey for what it is but they have an excellent drink selection.
If you've shopped until you've dropped along Bloor Street West, this is just the place to grab a bite to eat and let your feet and your credit card recover. It's two restaurants in one: Le Café/Terrasse is an informal bistro that serves decent soups, salads, and sandwiches all day; La Rotisserie is a slightly more upscale dining room with heartier Provençal-style fare. Basics are what they do... more
Located in the "Golden Mile" district, one would assume the food will be good because of 1. The clientele and 2. The prices they charge.
I ordered a beef sandwich and what came out could be anything but. The meat was dry, yellowish brown, over cooked (likely microwaved), and the jus might as well be wallpaper glue. My companion ordered...

The Bloor Street Diner in the Manulife Centre is a long time favorite and with friends living at 44 Charles I have eaten there many times. The food is always consistently good. Their steak/frites is always delicious as are many of the other items on what I can only describe as a very solid menu. There is lots of choice... more
Service is professional, friendly and discrete. Decor is pleasant. Balcony overlooks Bay Street. Food was excellent. No loud music blaring, and no people shouting at each other which meant we could hold a conversation and have memories of a pleasant ecperience..
Food is well prepared and reasonably priced. We had the cote de boeuf for two and it was a $54 platter that more than satisfied our appetite. Above all, it was done perfectly medium rare and very tasty. The $55 shiraz was not as good in value, but considering the location, not gouging by any measure. The room and service... more
good for a drink but not eating. if you hit it on a good day, e.g. cook and server it is ok, otherwise as noted elsewhere, no guarantee of what portion comes out of the kitchen, food is often tepid and waiters are completely untrained, and not cheap for what it is. location is great!
Four of us had lunch here after visiting the Royal Ontario Museum along Bloor Street in Toronto. The service was prompt and attentive, the food (fish & chips, crab cakes, salads, etc.) was good, and our four meals totaled about $100 including tax, a 15% tip and one draft beer. It was quite busy and the buzz in the room... more
We visited the diner on a recent trip to Toronto. I'd been there several times before over the last ten years but this visit showed that it has gone downhill. My mom and I ordered quiche. When it arrived, the portion was ample but it was cold. We sent it back and they reheated it. It still came back cold.... more
A "fixture" in the Toronto casual dining scene !.......always like visiting it for the food as well as the ambiance. I would miss it if it were to disappear or change in style. The "diner" label is misleading - It is really a " French Bistro " that serves a nice variety of sandwiches and salads that I have always... more
Happened upon this gem prior to our museum visit. Soup was squash and apple, delish. The dip, bread, veggie plate was just like I would make myself at home. Nice big pieces of peppers, radish, cucumber, etc., not the normal token carrot and celery. Very nice, definitely recommend.
Excellent range of dishes on the menu. Whatever you like you'll find something to satisfy you here. Good service, friendly staff.
Had a recent meal with old friends. Food was really good and came out fast. Special summer drink The Paloma was a hit. Attentive staff. Will definitely return.
I had the Cobb salad for lunch. I always order dressing on the side in restaurants so that I can control the calories. An added plus, when you order the salad undressed, you can see what you are actually getting.
The Cobb salad cost $17, dear for a salad, so I was expecting something hearty. When the salad was put...

The Bloor Diner is located in the Manulife Centre--very handy either before or after attending a movie in the Manulife. The food was very average and the service was poor. However, on a nice, hot summer evening, a table overlooking the street would be lovely.
All families face challenges when they go out: gluten free, eats everything in sight, picky eater...and a baby. The Bloor Street Diner is great for us...and a recent engagement party was fascinating for my granddaughter.
We had a brunch on the january 1st. The buffet included some salads, ommelet, meat and deserts. The food is more beautiful than tasty. It doesnt worth the price.
The Bloor Street Diner has a very convenient location. The decor is miles above what one expects from the word "diner." Like a diner it has a long list of food types. Good beer selections. The food is average. I liked the fish and chips, but my companion did not like the Nicoise salad. Prices are very reasonable. So good... more
Overall great service and great price. The food itself was delicious, however it was a little too noisy.
Was on the hunt for a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner, came across the Bloor Street Diner.
All You can eat Thanksgiving dinner buffet with a chocolate fountain for $26 per person! Yes it was really true! The food was fantastic and the place was packed but not overly so. At first we were seated next to a table of kids but...

Didn't find it too expensive. We were all satisfied. The fries were guide good. The muscles were small. The service was fine. We sat out on the patio and it was very pleasant.
Far too noisy ! The acoustics are terrible. Could hear the clattering of plates throughout our meal, & diners talking loudly above the music..... Slow service, but we did enjoy our salad. There are plenty of other places to eat in the area.
In my last review I referred to this restaurant as 'good but not great'. That was for lunch. This time we went there for an early dinner before going to the show Cavalia. Pity the dinner wasn't as good as the show. This time it was neither good nor great. I had the fish and chips. The chips were on... more
Their Sunday brunch looks amazing, especially their chocolate fountain where you can dip all sorts of fruits and other candies.
Beyond the look, some of the salads can be disappointing in terms of taste.
But once in a while, it's great to enjoy a beautifully diversified all-you-can-eat buffet.
great food and great service. The atmoshere was great. Overall it was a great experience. We are on our honeymoon so it was a treat.
I have been here many times, this visit was much to be desired,
The server kept on pressing for us to order quickly even mentioning thAt this was a busy time, as if we were there to waste time,
Food was ok but the service on this occasion was unsatisfactory.
Over rated and limited choice of menu for lunch.
Overpriced- $16 for a nothing-special plate of Moule frites?
Lame service- we waited forever and there was barely anyone there. and when we Did get service, the server was lame. we asked if we could have some olives to start off with coz we were hungry, and frankly, waited 10 mins for him to attend to us. he said No....

We often take lunch here when in Midtown Toronto. It is a trendy and attractive restaurant, generally quite full and always quite noisy. The food is consistently good but the service somewhat rushed. Yesterday we had lunch here again....New York steak prepared as ordered, with fries, club sandwich, and a wonderful fresh bowl of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Eveything was... more
My family was in town and in the area, so we thought we'd stop by for dinner. We reviewed the menu and decided to order some of the "daily specials." Only when we were ordering did the waitress mention that the restaurant was out of one of the meals we had intended to order (not her fault that they ran... more
I had lunch here the other day in the section overlooking Bay street. The atmosphere was nice, it's bright, convenient location. The place is a Toronto institution, and I've eaten here many times at this locations and its old one.
We had two nicoise salads ($17 each) a kid's pizza ($11), a few pops and a glass of chocolate milk...

$21 for an awesome brunch. Juice and coffe are included as well. Patio was excellent service was too. I don't think you can beat this deal in Toronto.
Here's the good: they have a reasonably priced breakfast buffet with good food, considering it's a buffet. It's got enough variety to please even the most diverse palattes at your table. They have a wonderful patio above Bay St. with wicker chairs like the ones they have on the teraces in Paris and inthe winder the glassed in atrium is cozy and lit well. Sometimes they even have a string... more
I work in Yorkville so I've seen my fair share of the new 'it' restaurants pop up over the years but there's nothing quite like an old favourite. I've been going to Bloor Street Diner since the early 90's, and it still has great food. Thank god not the same decor though, they recently had a (much needed) renovation and it looks amazing. My recommends would be the Butternut Squash Ravioli, and... more
Was referred here by a hotel and was really impressed. Dining room is really cool, food was great and price was really good.
Great value for a nice dinner. Fantastic sunday brunch buffet.
Great service. Fabio was fabulous! Friendly, quick. Steak great too!
Excellent service. Overal excellent dining experience! Great crabcakes + Fish & chips
The lounge area was relaxing and quiet. I find this area of the restaurant much quieter- it jumps several decibels in the front area of the restaurant, and I find sitting in the back is much better.
The fried calamari melted in my mouth. The best calamari I have had to date in this city.
This item was delicious.
I work downtown and I have eaten there quite a few times. The food is good. I was served once before by a rude waitress. But today July 22, 2010, the blond waitress with the pony tail was just too much. I asked her for a table outside since it was a beautiful day. She asked for how many people.... more
The food at the Bloor Street Diner is great comfort food at reasonable prices with specials to the theatre upstairs. The Diner is always packed so be prepared to wait, it has a bar and a dining room area that offer the same menu.
We tried the Bloor Street Diner before the movies and the food was poor.
The place was packed and service was good but there are plenty of other better places around Bloor Street that offer better deals for dinner.
A few nights ago we wanted to relax after work with drinks and food, we were told to try Bloor Street Diner for the patio. When we arrived the patio was full and waited at the bar. We saw the three pool tables inside and ended up spending the entire night there. With the service and food we felt at... more
We go to the Diner at least once a week, and 9 out of 10 tens it's excellent.
The service is fast and efficient, not overly friendly but not in your face either. We usually go before the movies or after work for a bite. The food is good and very consistent we usually get the bavette and substitute salad,...

I went there with a group of friends last Saturday. I have never been there before, and saw the mixed reviews on tripadvisor. However, I was upbeat and optimistic. Had reservations for 7pm and arrived on time. It's in a good midtown location and nicely appointed. However, from the get go it was an awful experience. Not crowded but took... more
Worst excuse for a cobb salad I've ever seen - and unfortunately tasted. Without a word of a lie, it was 75%-80% iceberg lettuce. The menu reads well, but doesn’t deliver, especially for the price. While our server was good, the group of all the servers were generally more interested in chatter amongst themselves.
simple and elegant. the mixed greens w/ chevre in filo was yum! gotta play pool next time!
I like this place. I like how the bread always come in a bag and it's piping hot.
The service is ok, but the food is good given the price your paying for.
I love the old Bloor Street dinner remember I practically lived their in my 20's after clubbing that was the place to bump into all your friends and see whos with who, Its not the same but the food is good
Bringing a taste of Provence to Toronto, the Bloor Street Diner/La Rotisserie is one of the few downtown haunts that actually lives up to its chi chi address. At the original Bloor Street Diner imported roasters turn out the core of the Provençale fare, such as chicken with sun-dried tomato aïoli, and grilled salmon with pink grapefruit vinaigrette. Glass indoor patio. Lunch, dinner daily; Sun. brunch buffet. Smart casual. Entrées: $10-$22. AE, MC, V.
Nestled within the popular Manulife Centre and a part of the bustling Bloor Street, over the years Bloor Street Diner has reinvented itself. It now offers the casualness of a typical American diner and elaborate menu of a French cafe-bistro. Boasting of two patios and several rooms, space is certainly not a constraint here. The menu too is extensive featuring appetizers like Quesadilla,... more
