Love breakfast here
Restaurant made jam
Fresh made hash browns
waitress that text all day long
bad ham that made me sick
so long rude waitresses
so long scare of food poisoning
new owners not business people
will soon close
an embarrassment to the original Billy
We visited this deli several times and it's always very good. Their Montreal Smoked Meat is the best and have very generous portions at an affordable price. Coming from Montreal we had a very difficult time finding a good smoked meat sandwich like we had at home but Billy's is the one. All their servings are very big and can... more
Loved the speed and portions (be ready to eat). Real 'diner' experience in downtown London.
Try the deserts, you won't be disappointed.
The restaurant stands the test of time. Amazing food = a destination every time we visit London. The strawberry pie was not yet in season but all of their pies are delicious!
No breakfast menus on the table even though it's all day Breakfast. Chocolate milk was going bad. Asked for a water, but had to ask again when it didn't arrive. Should have gotten it long before my food. Waitress didn't seem concerned at all about the untouched milk, and didn't even say sorry for forgetting water. Just said "yup" walking... more
I lived in London for 5 years and it is my favourite breakfast place for your standard Canadian breakfast. There are cheaper places (Campus HiFi) or places that are good for a special time (The Early Bird), but this is my mainstay breakfast place in town.
Our breakfasts were excellent. Very clean and welcoming. Good food. Convenient location. Will return for lunch next time.
Great place to have breakfast. Breakfast is served daily with fresh homemade jam! Fast and courteous service. They also make amazing homemade pies!
Food was excellent, my kids gobbbled up their French toast. Abit more that you usually spend for breakfast but the quality and quantity is worth it. It was busy and we were sent up stairs where there was only one waitress. Upstairs does not have same ambiance and we had to wait a little while for are orders to show... more
They have lots of great choices including a spicy omelette that I love. If they are busy there is room on the second floor, the stairs are in between the 2 front doors. I didn't want hash browns or French fries so the waitress asked if I wanted fresh fruit - Yes, Thank You! No complains about this one, great... more
Go here for a good sandwich for a decent price. It's a great little spot for lunch. The staff is very friendly.
The decor is more than a little dated, but updating it might ruin some of the charm.
I heard so much about their "famous pie" that I stopped in today for lunch with a few of my co-workers. It took 12 minutes for ice water to get to our table, then another 50 minutes for sandwiches and fries. We overheard another group complaining about the wait and the waitress said "Well, you should have come earlier if... more
We waited 1 1/2 hours for our food. After 10 minutes of waiting had to call the waitress over just to get a cup of coffee. When we complained to the manger he said that was 'bulls**t'. Also said the same thing to a woman behind us that also complained that it was over an hour for her food to... more
We had an excellent breakfast here. Both the service and the food was great. I was really impressed with the healthy breakfast option, which is not found on most breakfast menus (cereal, fruit and toast). The homemade jam that accompanied my toast was fabulous. My husband was equally impressed with his flapjacks. A variety of pies are available to buy,... more
Service was unimpressive, small food portion. Omelet was bad, very bad...basically it's scramble eggs and few pieces of ham on the top, chesses was missing, result of waitress's mistake, didn't care, didn't apologist. The owner/manager's attitude is the same. I guess they don't care for repeat business. Will not go there again.
This place has the best breakfasts downtown. And, if you'll be patient and place your order a day in advance, they have a sour cream rhubarb pie (all their pies a great) that I'd have (and did have) for breakfast desert! Great people and so friendly and convenient.
I went here looking for a good reuben. It was alright, but the bread was soggy with butter, and the dressing was just missing. That being said, they have excellent jams, and some of the best pies I've ever had. Next time I'll try breakfast, but I'm not coming back for lunch.
The atmosphere was homey, but coming alone, I...

Billy's has amazing food. It's a London landmark, been around forever. Their breakfast and brunch is out of this world... I love it all but the breakfast skillets are my personal favorite. Billy always has creative features on the menu as well, and his wife is an incredible baker. Every day they have an assortment of mouthwatering homemade pies. The... more
Cozy, bustling place with delicious breakfast menu! We've been going for years and love the animal-shaped pancakes the chef makes for the kids. Their home-made jam is lovely and they have the best pie in London. A friend even asked for a slice of Billy's strawberry pie for his birthday! Everything we've ever tried has absolutely been worth the trouble... more
friendly owner and staff, right close to the hotel metro, very good breakfast.
Nice decor and reasonable prices
The wife and I just finished the run at Springbank Park in rememberance of the Boston Marathon victims. We decided to go for a nice breakfast after a good run at the park. We don't usually go downtown often but after hearing about "Billy's" on the radio we thought we'd try it. What a mistake that was. Upon our arrival... more
Jammed into a small space, you are practically on your neighbours lap. Great if you like meeting new people. Food is typical comfort food for breakfast and lunch. Service is rapid. Good place if in hurry for fast breakfast or lunch. Desserts fantastic.
The breakfast we had was good.......very good portions...would return there again to eat. Nice that its open on Sundays after church. Not much on the menu for a vegetarian to eat, unfortunately.
We go here every Saturday morning. I get the skillet every time. Its basically enough food for a couple days (served in a cast-iron skillet). Food has a home-cooked, hearty type quality. Classic breakfast kind of place. If you want vibe, this is the place. Coffee refills from wait-staff that call you, 'hun', decor from the 80's, 45 degree angle... more
Had heard only good things about Billy's but still took us 7 years to try it (even though I work within walking distance). Wow. Latkes - served with sour cream or home-made applesauce. Pancakes? Uses local Arva flour mixed with cornmeal. Yum. Bacon? Well, it's not Costco's and tastes like bacon should. Pastrami with cole slaw? Oh, yes please! Again,... more
Their homemade breakfast menu is fantastic (especially their jam), and so is their very genuine decor. Billy's definitely takes pride in the preparation of their food, and it shows as it is a cut above the rest.
Being a family owned restaurant only adds to the homey feeling as you walk in past the homemade pies in the window.
As...

Great for breakfast. I had some sort of skillet eggie thing, and it really hit the spot. They close at 2pm or earlier on Sundays, so make sure you get there early enough.
The food is just OK. However, the experience that my family had in this restaurant was terrible. The owner is a very sad and bitter person that treats his employees and patrons in a disrespectful way. He cannot stand any public demonstration of love and he dislike children. We felt abused by his closed-minded personality. We are not going to... more
We eat at Billy's quite often and they never disappoint. The good is good quality and served with a smile. It is very good family run restaurant. It says Deli in name but it doesn't really strike me as what I think of as a Deli. It is really to me just a family diner with everything I have tried... more
Every now and then we head to Billy's for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Dependably good food and service, we know what to expect and look forward to it.
Sometimes a bit crowded, but a great artery clogging breakfast for some of us, and healthy things for everyone else. Don't forget lunch with the excellent pies. Keep asking them to make the lemon merangue pie - to die for.
They serve breakfast all day. The service is great, they have an authentic kitchy sort of decor. They have been in this location forever so they are quite busy at breakfast and lunch. The deserts are hand made on the premises and they are to die for. I loved the chocolate carrot cake.
My wife and I decided to give this place a try. We sat at a corner booth and were promptly asked to move to a two-seat table because of the "busy" lunch that they were saving all the four-seat tables for...which never materialized while we were there, save a family of three that came in. This was repeated 5 more... more
Simple breakfast food. I had the latka omelet baked dish, and it was great. Go early, they close by 2pm on the weekend, I believe.
Owner is always there taking great care of everything.
All items are thoughtfully created. They have put some time into creating unique items. Homemade home-fries sauce :) Not my favorite, but the fact that they made it means that they care. Homemade strawberry jam comes free with toasts, now that's one of my favorites.
Visited Billy's earlier this month on a Friday night before the hockey game at the "Budweiser Gardens" one block away. I am from Montreal and have missed Montreal smoked meat sandwiches since moving to London, so I was anxious to try a Billy's "Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich". What a disappointment! The meat tasted like something I have purchased at local... more
It was crowded, which was a good sign of a good breakfast place. It took a while for the server to take the order and for the food to come. When the food came it was average. It was not bad but it was not great. The lack of parking, the average food and not so good service does not... more
I recently visited this place based on reviews from tripadvisor. I had the Montreal smoked meat sandwich and was bitterly disappointed. Having been to Montreal on numerous occasions, I am very familiar with their smoked meat. The sandwich at Billy's was a mediocre imitation at best. The meat tasted like store bought lunch meat. In fact, I think it was... more
If you blinked you might miss this little gem. Apparently it's been around for a while and I never knew it was even there (even though I walk by it all the time) until one of my coworkers asked me if I wanted to go to lunch there. She said it was a great place and I trust her judgement... more
While visiting London recently, dined at Billy's on two occassions. Outstanding fare! Cozy place with two floors (although only the main floor was open when we dined there), the service is efficient and friendly. Excellent menu choice. Have the "Skillet", which coupled corned beef hash, black forest ham, bacon, eggs, shredded 'taters and cheese, with an array of sweet and... more
While on a business trip yo London i ate here three times and was not disappointed once.
The menu is varied and the food is fresh an delicious
Highly recommend !!!
Reasonable prices and good food. The menu offers more interesting choices than many of the restaurants in London, e.g. potato latke breakfast, corned beef hash and eggs, as well as heuvos rancheros. I recently had the Oktoberfest sausage and eggs. The eggs were perfectly poached and the sausage spicy and dleicious and not greasy.
very good, and excellent pies and dessert, good atmosphere, excellent selection of breakfasts, also great dinner before Knights game Friday nights only.
We were in London Mother's Day weekend for some sightseeing etc. We went to Billy's based on other reviews.
It was fantastic. The staff were so nice and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect.
It was so much better than we expected. There was a little girl seated near us and she ordered pancakes, they...

I can't believe I just tried this place last weekend! It was on our list for a long time....we had the special with the banana pancake and peanut butter syrup, oktoberfest sausage, potato latke, toast with the MOST delicious homemade strawberry jam!! Everything homemade! Super-friendly service too. A great diner experience in downtown London.
A treasure in downtown London. Cozy and bright with a friendly on site owner and great staff. Family friendly and great for breakfast and lunch. Great deli sandwich platters, fantastic salads and homemade desserts make this a must visit deli.
This is a hidden gem...busy for breakfast. Fast service. Great hash browns and chili sauce.
WOW, this is like an old school diner with so much ambience! Great breakfast food and great value! I loved it!
Billy's is great for breakfast, lunch or dessert. I've had eggs, pancakes, sandwiches, soups, quiches, pies -- all of it is really good and very consistent.
The food and service was what one would expect from a diner.
I would return but would be careful to whom I would refer.
