Pleasant and not overdone service with great seafood (halibut superb)

Bianca's doesn't have a wiine list they have a wine wall. Fun to wander around and choose your wine. There were 6 of us and the food was good. Some was great -- the halibut was very fresh and cooked to perfection. The service is what really sets this place apart. Not intrusive but just always there when needed. It is a very nice upscale but relaxed spot.

Too efficient

For a fine dining establishment the efficiency of the service was little over the top ...detracted from the overall experience.

Great Spot in St Johns

We really enjoyed Biancha's. I like the pick your own wine from the lineup, there are some great choices. Ate there twice and had the veal cheeks both times, they were awsome.

A consistant favorite

It's been in St. John's for quite a while, and we have dined here before. The restaurant is classy without being stuffy, and the service is always above average. The food is well prepared and includes French and local cooking. A very nice night out, and a short walk to the shops and bars that all stay open late.

We did enjoy our dinner for our 49th wedding anniversary - just the two of us. It was mid week so the restaurant was quiet, so we received our server's detailed attendance. Top marks on all fronts

Food quality, service and atmosphere was outstanding during our recent visit. I have dined at a number of the other top names downtown recently duing business functions but I take my Wife out to Bianca's. The food and atmosphere out-did all the others.

A little disappointing

Our visit to Bianca's was a positive one; the atmosphere and service were very good. However, for some of us, the food was disappointing. The beet soup was bland and the duck was not as flavourful as expected. The desserts too were underwhelming.

Reliable, classic dining

A very good, convenient, classy and unpretentious restaurant with a selection of entrees to suit all discerning diners. Both the beef tenderloin and the halibut were cooked to perfection and carefully presented. Happy to recommend it!

Comparable to other "nice" dining establishments in St. John's. The food was very good. Service was slow but the staff were very nice. Seemed to be under staffed. Nice touch to pick your own wine from the "wine wall". Decor could use some updating. Overall nice evening but would not rush back.

I was surprised by the dining room...not quite up to fine dining standards (cheap curtains, stains on the institutional- like drop ceiling...)
The wait staff were friendly but seemed new and not very polished.
The appetizers came out after over an hour...an apology was offered and they were not charged to us.

Never Disapoints

I frequent this restaurant several times a year and am never disappointed. The meats are cooked to temperature perfectly and the presentation is outstanding. Highly recommended!!

Casual gourmet dining at its best

Bianca's sets the standard in St. John's for gourmet dining. Food is ALWAYS top notch. Service is fantastic, but friendly and relaxed. Some gourmet restaurants go too far with formal service. Not Bianca's - the servers genuinely want you to enjoy the experience.

Great food and service

The food (lamb rack) we had was superbly prepared and presented. The waiter even though of asking out allergies when it wasn't even mentioned to him. The table spacing made it easy to carry-on a conversation without interfering with neighbours. An interesting wine presentation - no list but a bottle of each selection carefully arranged ( with pricing) on one wall.

Great place for lunch

I went to Bianca's for lunch with my daughter. It was my first visit. Everything was perfect!! The food and the service was exceptional! Will definitely be back and I recommend this restaurant.

Very nice dinner

I had a very nice dinner at Bianca's. The service was excellent (we had to wait a while for my dish, but only because I ordered well done lamb - and it takes a while to cook that!). Very nice meal!

It doesn't get any better than this place

You'd expect NYC or something high end in Europe. Everything was perfect from free sampler appetizers on. Service was seamless. I even chatted with the owner and she will give me tips on a Spa in Bulgaria

Salmon - better than Mom ever prepared it and Mom could cook

Went last night with a professional cook (retired). We're at the age now where we try to avoid eating too much which is always a problem at Bianca's because everything is always perfect. This restaurant has been perfect since the day it first opened. Staff are the best trained in the entire City. Food is always simply perfect.

Just okay

Bianca's has lost it's mojo, magic, whatever you want to call it. The décor is tired, in need of a refresh. The service was fine, but the food was just okay, for the money that made the experience a disappointment.

Very nice treat

Good choice of menu and some good daily specials, well presented and good portion size. Unusual feature is their wine wall, there is no wine menu, instead you pick your bottle from the wine wall. Good service. Bathrooms clean and well stocked with some nice extras.

Bianca's is pretty centrally located and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. My only complaint would be the purple sheer window coverings - not very attractive! Business dinner, 5 of us, friendly greeting, nice corner table, attentive service.

Halibut to die for

Took a freind down last week. He had never had fine dining in Canada before. He was suitably impressed. Everything was flawless. He had filet and I had halibut. Presentation was perfect. Timing was perfect. Staff were always there but never in our faces. Like what else can be said.

Always perfect, every single visit

Fast service, perfect atmosphere, staff know every dish, everything is spotless, every dish cooked to perfection. These people make you feel that you are the reason for their being there, not some inconvenience to their being there.

Our group of 35+ had booked a few months ago. There were only 2servers for us. The first course took over an hour while the main course took 1 1/2 hours! The food was good but not worth the $100 per person before drinks. Our group will not be returning anytime soon.

Bianca and her husband Nick were Bulgarians who came to Gander, NL during the cold war and "defected", declaring themselves to be refugees. A local lawyer who was just doing his articles, helped them get established in St. Johns. Bianca's does not disappoint

This is one of our favourite restaurants on our annual trip to St. John's. I never can understand why it is so empty, ... perhaps due to the higher prices. The menu is innovative and unique, without being pretentious. We always enjoy a great seafood meal here, and don't mind paying a bit more for fresh food!

Grossly Overpriced Valentine Dinner

Had dinner at Bianca's on Valentine's day. While the food was tasty, the pricing was outrageous. There was a fixed menu costing $80/person excluding tax and tip for 3 courses. At this price I figured that my salad was $20, steak $50 and dessert $10. I don't see how this pricing can be justified.

I have several B&B’s downtown. I have always recommended Bianca’s. In I suppose hundreds of guest visits there was only one who had some minor issue and another thought the halibut was wet ……. and I thought “She wanted it the way Mom cremated it, fried for 40 minutes”

I have dined at Bianca’s several times over the years. I have to say i think my lastest experience was truely the best. It is great to see that when an establishment has been in business for so many years that they are still able to be so creative with thier menu. I guess that is part of the secret to their success. Highly recommend it!

Elegance, Great Food in the Heart of Downtown

Bianca's is definately THE place to eat in Downtown St. John's. One of the best wine selections in the city. Also love the bar next door.
