Nice surprise

The hotel was easy to find, the front desk staff was cheerful and helpful, the room spacious and well decorated. The beds were very good quality, we had a good size fridge and a microwave. We just wish we had known there was a fitness room, hot tub and indoor pool, would have brought the right clothes!

Conveniently located for travellers!

Staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel room was clean, but the bed & pillows were disappointing. It was nice to have a fridge in the room, it just needed to be quieter.

Okay hotel if stopping for quick sleep

Not a very fun stay. Deep end of pool is only 3 feet deep shallow end was 2 feet. And very small. Rooms were clean, beds were nice. Heat was hard to operate. Do temperature setting, so was way too hot while learning controls.

Noisy, dirty room and bad service

someone stayed in my room while I was away

I found rests of beer cases in the fridge, the sliding door to the parking lot was open, towels were missing, the entry keys to the room didn't work. All this while I was away working. I reported to the desk and asked to see the security cameras footage but they refused. STAY AWAY OF THIS S-HOLE.

Close to freeway

Nice room, clean, good pool, good beds, breakfast good, and easy to find. Typical of Best Western quality and would stay there again if in the area. Not many restaurants within walking distance but some fast food ones.

Great Customer Service

The hotel is an average Best Western, but what sets it apart is the extremely exceptional customer service. Every staff member there greats you with a warm smile and a friendly greeting. I spend about 6 to 8 nights a month there and it truly is like a second home.

Needs renovation and make totally non smoking

We had problems with tv remote, faucet in bathroom, small crowded breakfast room, people smoke outside your room and you can not open your window. And there is no fan inside. Bathrooms need renovation and non smoking needs to be reenforced with non smoking inside and outside hotel. Could not wait to leave.

Perfect Wedding Night

The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, lots of soap and even name brand lotion. We went out to see the fireworks for Canada Day for the perfect night to our wedding, the front desk kindly called us a cab and the hotel staff were very friendly.

Driving through town & called last minute, no reservation. Explained that I required handicap access, ground floor from parking lot. Basic Best Western Motel

The breakfast was excellent, many options though no fresh fruit. The hot tub has not been working for quite some time and it was still not working. They should not advertise this amenity on their website.

Conveniently located close to the highway. Staff efficient and friendly. The jacuzzi room is beautiful, generous size and clean. Recommend to stay at any time! Maybe management should think about to have a little restaurant on site.

Our room was simple but perfect. I was blown away by the breakfast available to us in the morning, so many options and so tidy and tasty. Best Western Barrie

This Best Western has clean, comfortable rooms. The room was spacious and relatively quiet. The location, near Highway 400, was ideal for me to get to the airport in the morning. Access to theatres and restaurants is also very good from this location (although you will have to drive). There are very few amenities within walking distance.

Lots of choices. Great crunchy waffle. Quick food refill. Good service. Only problem is rooms have smoke smell even though it says smoke free. Great for short stay. Pool is small but clean. Bathroom has no shower cap, lotion is too little only enough one time use for one person. Not enough for 2 ppl.

A great night's stay

My wife and I stayed overnight while visiting friends for a party. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable and friendly place to stay, this hotel fits the bill. We appreciated the nice pool and the above average breakfast bar!

Great value for the location

Excellent value for a Best Western. Staff are beyond helpful (especially the afternoon and night staff) and location in Barrie is within 30 mins to various attractions and good dining. Rooms could use some updating, but aside from that, all is very good.

Great overnight stay

We stayed this weekend on our way to Mount St Louis for a day of skiing. Comfortable, clean hotel, friendly staff and great location. And the best part was not having to fight traffic to get to the ski hill.

We stayed at the hotel on New Year Eve. It's a nice place. People are helpful, but not over, that is important. Nice clean pool, open till 10 pm, so kids are busy! :) Overall, we are very happy with our experiences there.

Bad experience

Woke up at 11:45pm to move my car because a truck that was there for 14 hours needed to be towed? Come on you could have waited until the morning. Breakfast room is way to small. Pool is tiny. Parking lot is way to small to fit all the cars if sold out.

Clean and comfortable. No better or worse than its three star rating.
Staff were very friendly and accomodating.

One issue... doesn't seem to be sufficient parking when they are near capacity.

I think I had one of the worst sleeps in a long time. Maybe 2 hrs sleep at best...around 5am, because of "very noisy" party straight above us. Nice hotel in Barrie.

A great stay. We've stayed a couple of times now and enjoyed it each time. Staff are great, place is well maintained. There were a few too many kids on the Labour Day weekend, but the parents quietened them down after 11.

we enjoyed the full breakfast includedthe small pool was a plus ...there were not a lot of people so we could enjoy itthe location is not great and you need to take your car to go the beach and restaurant

Okay for a night but not for long stays

This Hotel is okay if you're just passing through the town and need to stay somewhere for a night. Everything is basic. There are no facilities. The continental breakfast is dreadful and you're better off going to McDonald's! The room was comfortable but smelly. The pillows were lumpy and hard.

A night after Prom

We rented this room for my daughter after her Formal from High School. She was excited to stay over with her friends and she had a great night. The room was excellent, with lots of great features. The hotel is fairly new so everything looks very good inside.

Hotel was ok, a little over priced. The hot tub was closed for repair and the pool is very tiny, good enough for my 9 year old. A very good breakfast, the girl works really hard!

Heating system in room was either very hot or not heat at all and when it was on, it smelt like mothballs. The bathroom fan seemed to give off a "weed" smell. Hot tub did not look clean, worn tiles and dirt line at the water line.

Nice hotel

It is a nice hotel, bit away from the center of Barrie, but then Barrie is small and it only takes 5 min by car to get to the lake.There is a small indoor pool (which was pretty cold) and a jacuzzi (which was very hot!)Breakfast is sufficient, standard Best Western breakfast as we found out when staying in another one. Staff was very nice. Rooms big and comfortable.I would recommend.

Beautiful and relaxing

My husband and I have been in many different hotels in the past year and we were extreamly impressed with the Best Western Royal Oaks Inn. Awesome location

Enjoyed the hot breakfast every morning. There was lots to choose from. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. Was a nice gettaway and will definitely book with them again.

Noisy

I have never slept in a hotel that was so loud and noisy. We could here the other guests int he halls on our floor, the above floor and next door as clear as if they were in our room. THe guests next door were up partying until 3 am. I know that you cannot control what others do but I think there is a lack of insulation in the walls.

A Family Weekend

We took 2 rooms for a family function. The hotel was nearby our daughters and very easy to access. The kids enjoyed the pool and the breakfast was very satisfactory. We would stay there again as we found the staff very cordial and helpful.

Disappointing

Coffee maker broke on the second day, toilet did not flush properly, room card took 3-4 swipes everytime to open the door, even with replacement card not a horrible place, just expected a little more from a Best Western

We found the hotel room a little bit small for a family with 2 kids, otherwise it's perfect.

Location is what brings everyone to this budget hotel. It is in it's category which I suppose isn't so bad if you only plan on just crashing.

What can I say, the nicest people you could meet

We booked 2 nights at this hotel. My son and husband were taken ill during our stay, the staff were FAB. They cancelled my next hotel for me, booked me in for one more night there and said to help my self to anything from the breakfast room to help my husband and son. They were just fantastic.
