Business and/or Leisure Good All Round Hotel

I have been coming to the Edmonton Westwood in for some time during both leisure and business trips. Every time I check in the hotel is clean and welcoming and the staff are friendly and dressed for business. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable and allow for a good rest.

Hotel rooms are in poor condition. The hotel halls and stairwell smell bad. The door at one of the side exits that was equipped with a key access pad didn't even close. Staff rather unfriendly and curt. Hotel and equipment are tired. Water pressure poor, tub/shower did not drain properly. Refused to give us complimentary breakfast because they gave us published AAA discount ($10)

Not what we expected

Unfortunately this stay did not live up to expectations. The hotel was old and the stay was extremely noisy. This would not be a place I would recommend let alone stay at again. The building was old and did not appear to be the quality of the type of hotel that a Plus level hotel should be.

It's a typical Best Western

We stayed here Mother's Day weekend. It is what you would expect from a typical best western. It was clean and comfortable no frills. We certainly didn't experience anything as the negative reviews describe which made us think again about if we should stay, but it was great.

We stayed 2 nights. When we booked we were not aware of a $100 damage deposit charge until we were checking in. (returned at end of stay although how do they know if they don't check the room) . Bed too short

The hotel was convenient. At one time, I suppose it was a great hotel but now it looks very tired and it is time for a face lift. The beds are too short for anyone over 6 foot and are somewhat uncomfortable.

Most recent stay a disappointment

Not the first time here, the first was a good experience but this one not so much. Put beside a noisy utility room and moved at 1AM. The restaurant was gross, most of the tables hadn't been cleared and they wanted to seat us at a dirty table first.

Nice family getaway

Wasn't sure what to expect for how cheap the room was. Found the hotel to be clean and staff was friendly. Our room was huge, with 2 double beds and playpen my daughter still had lots of room to crawl around play. Pool and restaurant are average.
