Hotel staff were not enthusiastic

This was the first Best Western that we have stayed in that did not include a continental breakfast. We were quoted $9. each (twice) for a buffet breakfast, the bill was 12.50 each. Great Customer Service

Every staff was friendly and helpful. I had a problem with the door knob but was quickly fixed when I called. The maintenance person who fixed it was so efficient and professional that made me feel at home.

Great place to stay downtown

We were visiting the museum and events around the Forks - about a 10 miinute walk - convenient location. Our room appeared to be recently renovated - very comfortable.

Great, but not for watching tons of TV!

I hate hotel TV clickers, but outside of that, internet was fine as was everything else. Staff was helpful with my inability to use their TV clicker. However, the hotel directory lists tons of channels and not even half were available.

We are able to walk to several restaurants in the area. Parked the car and forgot about driving and parking downtown.

could've been better

The rooms were nice and the staff were friendly. However we were there for three nights and house keeping did not visit our room once. I went to the desk and got a trainee who had no idea what he was doing. I had to ask for new towels and toilet paper. Half of the hotel is still under construction so I cant comment. I won't be going back.

Not only does this hotel claim to be a BW they have the audacity to say they belong to the BW Plus family. The only redeeming quality is that it is downtown - sort of.

Great downtown location, walking distance to lots of local attractions.

It was ok

At first glance the room was very nice and clean. Our beds were really small, when I was told they were queen beds. Also the bathroom was dirty and moldy. The free soap containers were not easy to use and were really gross looking and dirty. Definitely not going back to this Best Western.

This is a nice hotel located in downtown Winnipeg.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel is in the middle of downtown and is centrally located, many things are within walking distance. The front desk was helpful with answering questions, especially Cory who was fantastic.

First time in staying over in Winnipeg

It was close to Via Rail Station. The shuttle drive on our way back to the train station the next day didn't know the area too well or his driving skill not up to the weather condition we had to tell him where to drop us off and still had to lug our baggage a little ways to get to the main entrance. We didn't gave him a tip.

Rooms are nice and clean and the Internet is pretty quick. I can't quite figure out why there were a bunch of hoodlums in the lobby giving the front desk clerk a hard time, however. And why it went on for such a long time!
God, just kick the bums out or call the police.

One of the best hotels in down town Winnipeg, I stayed here for few days until I found an apartment in the city. The rooms was spacious and super clean, wired internet was very reliable and fast. Front desk staff are very helpful, friendly and professional. I love the food at their restaurants and I still go there every once in a while for lunch and dinner.

I went here for a Conference at the Winnipeg Convention Centre and it was just a quick walk away. The location was excellent to nearby shopping and restaurants. The staff are very friendly as well. Housekeeping was great as well.

Good location and a nice room

We visited Winnipeg in late July for a family wedding. The standard line about Winnipeg is that the people are very nice but the city isn't. The Charter House is located near the Legislature Buildings and walking distance to the Forks but the rest of the downtown is pretty depressing.

We stayed at the Best Western on York Avenue, Winnipeg. People check your charge cards. They pre-authorize your cards and then put the charge on a different one. My suite was downgraded as I checked in, you have to tromp downstairs to get the key for the GYM every time you want to use it - the room was unclean and the tub didn't drain.

I was surprised to see this hotel, as it wasn't at all what I would expect from a best western. Furniture, doors, and wall trim was beaten and worn. There is only one good thing to say abut this hotel - very good location. List of the hotel problems is more extensive:
- Arrival: Front desk gave me the room that was already occupied by someone else. Shock!

Old, renovated but still old, bathroom very small, no desk in the room, no plugs for computer or phone, no pool.
Slow elevators, old elevators.
View not great as it is a short building.
Bar...I've seen nicer and bigger in peoples basements.

Great Location

Very pleased with the service and the accommodations. The restaurant (Rib Room) is a must, those ribs were sooooooooooo good! And the waiter was great! We enjoyed our stay except for the weather but that's life.

Good place to stay in downtown Winnipeg

Staff was helpful - switched my room to one with a bath (original one just had a shower). The only problem was internet reception - they were changing their router system so assume it is fixed now. Close to Forks Market, train station, Museum and the Parliament Buildings (you MUST see that magnificent building).

stayed for a night

Resturant was good, service was great and very helpful aas to what was close by and how to get to other locations in town. the room was clean and quiet, great for sleeping... by the way loved the Tv good selection of channels

Group booking

We booked the hotel for our roller derby team and requested 8 room as close as possible and we were given rooms all together which was great. The front staff was great to deal with when we needed a space for a quick team meeting one afternoon they gave us a small conference room which was great.

I stayed here for 5 days and I liked it due to its location, exceptional frond desk service. Rooms were clean and it is withing walking distance to city place mall,restaurants,downtown. I wish internet was little faster but it was still acceptable.

Good location, near the rink

Hotel is located close to the rink, several pubs and decent places to eat. You have to pay for parking 9 bucks a day. All in all a okay place to stay.

Useful for Convention Centre / Airport

This is one of the few downtown hotels with an Airport Shuttle; though as often as not they just ask you to take a taxi which they pay for on arrival - that suits me.

The hotel is within view of the convention centre, and short walking distance to MTS centre, which was very convenient. The gym was small but well appointed, and the rooms were comfortable. The breakfast buffet wasn't great, but there are a large number of dining options in the area.
