Avant-garde decor items, striking jewellry and provocative furnishings are displayed as works of art at this innovative Distillery District gem, a 6,000-sq.-ft. gallery that features the work of designers such as Frank Gehry, Brothers Dressler, Philippe Starck and Yoshitomo Nara, to name a few; the Bergo Kids section is a highlight – a caboodle of design-forward objects for newborns and up;... more
The selection here is a mix of international high-end standards like Alessi and Georg Jensen, and local finds like the Brothers Dressler, twin woodworkers who make beautiful pieces in their Toronto studio. There's also some architecturally inspired jewelry and watches by Frank Gehry. Prices veer to the high side, in keeping with the quality of goods.
Very disappointed. Just moved into a downtown condo, and was going to spend a lot of money accessory shopping. I arrived yesterday morning at five minutes before ten. The wind was howling...it was cold. The sign on the door said open at 10 on Saturdays. Went to have some coffee, hoping they would show up by 11. Finally left at 11:35, nobody showed up, store locked up tight. Don't understand it.... more
"Style over substance" that's one sentence to summarize this place which mind you isn't necessarily a bad thing. There is obviously a market for that kind of stuff. I am talking about Alessi, Jensen etc. collectors here. I am talking about housewares that belong in the museum and in some cases provide social commentary or highlight an issue (who would have thought a drain stopper can cause... more
While I didn't buy anything here, I have to say that this place has the coolest stuff! Retractable headphones, headphones with designs on them, some weird dolls, scissor tape (scissors and tape in one), a USB 2.0. outlet shaped like a human, some card games and cool designer phone cases. Oh yeah, they also have houseware which is really nice too, but I'm a nerd and love my gadgets.
If I had...

At Bergo Designs (Next to Soma and Jacob and Sebastian), there were kitchen and home items, watches, jewelry and other other assorted pieces. Just a lot of metallic and shiny well-built things.
Oh, and there was Chilewich. There is ALWAYS Chilewich. That should be embroidered on a pillow that sits on every design student's bed or should turned into some pin-able representation.
Good service....

This is a great store. It has tons of unique products. They have brands like Fred, Kikkerland, Alessi and so many more. Depending on what you're buying, it's expensive. But sometimes it's useful and worth having! But honestly, I wouldn't buy a silver bowl for like $300. I did get my current iPhone case from Bergo, a Triple C card holder case! Best case I've owned! I wanted a clock there, but... more
I'm a big fan of Bergo Designs, but can hardly afford to buy anything here. I saw a really nice espresso machine with a price tag of $1600.00. Oh, there was also this knife block selling for $128.00.
I really love the design of every piece of kitchenware, but knowing how I treat my kitchen, I'm better off getting my forks and knives from the dollar shop. I still drop by because I like looking...

Unbelievable staff! In addition to their huge collection of really cool items, I can't say enough about their staff. Extremely friendly to us out of towners, and we would love to return! Thank you for your outstanding service!
I stopped by Bergo today in hopes of doing some scouting out of possible Christmas gift ideas. It was disgustingly crowded and I bailed after about two minutes. Then it dawned on me. Two PM on a Saturday? No wonder the store was crawling with tourists! And on the American Thanksgiving long weekend to boot? Okay, I get it.
Normally, I really enjoy shopping here. Not that I ever buy too much,...

Maybe I'm jaded and getting older, but I just can't see myself spending $200 for a wine bottle holder that looks like abstract art, or salad tongs that look like two people kissing. However, walking in here is like going to the Museum of Industrial Design where you can buy things are fairly reasonable (for this kind of stuff) prices.
I used to love coming here and doing just that. Perusing,...

Truly inspiring, Bergo Designs does just what it says which is to offer a combination of Innovation, Creativity & Function into your living space. I would like to compare this to Kitchen Stuff Plus on Red Bull served with a unique Wine Glass.
Many designer Kitchen, Living space items available to browse and I do mean BROWSE as first of all although I love the innovation and creativity of such...

So this is where Ikea shoppers go when they grow up... When you're ready to upgrade from your LACK tables or LJUSS SALBO lamps, this is the place to go.
My best friend is FINALLY moving out on her own and at 27 needs more grown up yet funky things for her new home. This was the perfect place for me to begin my hunt for a housewarming gift. With a great mix of kitsch and practicality I was sure...

Great design. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. I'd like one of everything in the store!
Absolutely love this place. Despite it being a bit out of the way from the subway line and the rest of downtown, I've found myself often making walking trips out here just to go to the store and browse around a bit. My two favourite parts of the store are the large section they've opened up to the left of the store which contains all sorts of fun, novelty-type items which are great for small... more
Bergo Designs occupies a large space within the distillery complex so it comes equipped with exposed brick, lots of wires showing and of course a little artistic flair.
its a home store but not like you would experience at home outfitters or the bay. though those places and ones like them, small and large, have very many things from which to choose, they do not have the unusual takes on the...

This place is the coolest place ever! I was introduced to it by my boyfriend, who is into cool household gadget things. There's a ton of cool kitchen gadgets and furniture, very modern and one of a kind. They have these sundial watches, which although hard to read, are pretty nifty.
Great store to buy someone a gift or a wedding present because there's just so many cool little things.. Mind...

If you're a kitchen-ware fan like me, you'll absolutely adore Bergo. There are gadgets and gizmos a-plenty... and who's-its and what's-its galore. Great designs from kitchen-ware to piggy banks to random furniture.
I even dedicated a full suitcase for my purchases from Bergo. Good thing I packed lightly! I ended up purchasing a tin wallet, several piggy banks (custom made from Germany), a tea...

As much a gallery of industrial design as it is a furniture and housewares store. Lots of unique items—decorative functional pieces, contemporary furniture, even watches and jewellery—in a wide range of prices. Designs by Georg Jensen, Phillipe Starck and many more. Open daily.
