Service sucked. Not the friendliest but great fries and poutine will definetly return
I have already proclaimed my love of French Fries in the past, so it should come as no surprise that I’m willing to try any and every place that serves french fries in the hopes of finding a great fry. Unfortunately, most places fail to follow the art of the great fry. So when i hear of a place that serves “great fries”, AND the best poutine in BC, i get excited. Very excited.
Now, for our...

With 12 styles of poutine and 15 types of mayo for dipping, the Belgian frites here may have their French counterparts beat. While they serve burgers (beef, salmon, veggie, and chicken) with your generous portion of fries, consider saving those calories for the deep-fried Mars bar topped with whipped cream and drizzled with raspberry sauce. Everything is made in-house, and service is quick and... more
Great place to enjoy a poutine and a beer. They have a small selection of local craft beer on top, plus a number of Belgian beers in bottles. Kudos to them for having both Belgian beers avaialble (Chimay and such) and a small tap list of local favourites from breweries like Parallel 49.
My wife heard of this place fromoneof the food tv shows and suggested we try it. So off we went. Ordered deluxe pouting for the kids and my wife and I hade the Butter chicken (we wanted to be adventurous).
Well they were awesome ands next time I am here on business will return. This is a foodies placed to...

My Dad had often said that he would like to try poutine. He'd read about it and it sounded delicious -- then he tried it in a local fast-food restaurant and was so surprised that it was dreadful.
Then Dad heard about Belgian Fries when the restaurant was reviewed on tv. We've talked about giving it a try, and today...

Came here based on Yelp reviews of Poutine. We had the Poutine with gravy and cheese curds. It was so good! We also ordered the fish and it was good too. Everything was cooked well and tastes great. If you like pesto, try the pesto dipping sauce. Sure didn't look like pesto, but it tasted like it. Awesome chill place!
We came here to try poutine and used several reviews to guide us here. The atmosphere was nothing special, like a fancy hot dog joint. The poutine options were extensive. The gal at the counter was super helpful and told us all about poutine and toppings. We had an original and one with shredded beef. The men in my family... more
Since arriving in Canada all I've heard about is poutine but as a vegetarian thought I wouldn't get to try it and gave up on the idea. That was until a young waiter told me about Belgian Fries!
Had the classic poutine and absolutely loved it. As did my other vego/ non-vego friends.
Have been recommending it ever since!
We saw this on "You Gotta Eat Here" while watching TV in our hotel room one night. I kind of felt like a sellout because I went after seeing it on TV, but whatever.
We both got poutines, and they were very good. The fries were just crispy enough, but thick. The gravy was very good, but not overwhelmingly salty....

Today we split up our stroll on the drive by sharing a bowl of divine poutine. Divine poutine #12 is your typical poutine mounded with pulled pork served with a side of BBQ sauce. Delicious!
We sat at a little table outside on the side walk and watched the diverse world go by.
I've been going here for a while for their fries, which are really good, and a varied assortment of dips. I'm told their poutine is good as well, but I am not much into gravy, even if it is vegetarian.
My husband and I just came from there and we both had their Ultimate burger. Now while their choice of...

Somehow we got on to the topic of deep fried ice cream during a recent day trip with the kids into Vancouver. When we were kids we used to go to a place called Chi-Chis in Surrey where they did a block of ice cream rolled in brown sugar (I think), and then a quick drop in the deep fryer.... more
My favourite poutine place. Make it a day. Stroll Commercial Drive and then stop in for poutine. Heaven! Nice balcony for warmer summer weather. Eat fries and people watch.
Large portions. Licensed.
We went in tonight for some fries and a couple beers. Food was actually pretty good but the service was a total disaster. Considering the prices I would never go back.... not worth it!
There is a great variety of toppings (peanut sauce, mmmmm, just like in Belgium). It's not a fancy place but has a nice atmosphere. I'd recommend going with the smallest portions, they are huge! My boyfriend and I shared a medium 'War' and couldn't finish even half of it. But it was soooo delicious!
These guys do fries and Poutine pretty well. Their burgers are OK. The fish and chips are overcooked pieces of square deep fried "maybe fish". Best to avoid. Cheery service and there is always an interesting crowd in here.
gone a few times, some interesting condiments for fries, including curry!
They have a good varity of toppings for fries, and 3 different sizes.
My favourites were the "War" which has peanut sauce. and of course the poutine.
The restaurant was billed a the 'best poutine' place. However the food was average at best and when my wife's dinner arrived it had what looked like a fur ball sitting on top. It turned out to be hemp residue from the bags the potatoes came in. My wife lost her appetite and we were refunded our money for that... more
Simple, but tasty food. The double fried chips are great and there are 14 variety of dips to choose from which are all good. The burgers are also really tasty. On top of this you can people watch while you eat and no better place to do this than watching people go by on Commercial Drive. Cheap and cheerful.
I felt I 3was going to have a heart attack while eating this fried, extremely greasy!
So many things made with fries, not to mention vegetarian gravy!
