Good food at reasonable prices. Much better than the fast food choices that are the same as in any location. The Bear's Claw has some gift items for sale and provides an authentic western flavor.
Stopped here while passing through but should have checked TA before eating here. First, restaurant concept is confusing - sports theme decor but menu didnt even have any burgers or food that one would associate with beer and sports. Second, terrible dinner menu...not one thing that appealed to me. Liver and onions???? Veal??? Who eats that anymore??? Opted for fish... more
Stopped for a burger and fries for dinner with mom and it was good, the cook did a good job cooking the food. The young waitress there was super cute and was very nice. I would recommend this place to anyone. Its a cool place to check out on your trip through Cache Creek.
You expect more from a nice place like this. All the food is frozen, the French fries are horrible and fish is not properly fried. Never again.
This lodge looks very nice from the outside, being constructed of huge logs. The room I stayed in had adequate air conditioning, which was its saving grace. There was no chair or table, hair dryer or coffee. No refrigerator. The main room had a jetted tub next to the bed in spite of a shower in the bathroom. I would... more
We stayed here for one night while visiting family. Our room was small, but cozy so we didn't mind. Staff were very friendly. Reasonable room rate, clean and comfortable. Had an excellent meal at the restaurant. We will definitely stay here again!
Log building , motel style ,not fancy, good showers , mosquitoes , lots of parking, food is good there , service a bit slow with new staff , menu a bit limited, ok for one night. Motel is close to downtown and major roads.
Good quality food limited menu. Attractive dining room done completely in log cabin style . Limited alcohol available .
Rolled in on a Sunday night at 8pm. Starving, road weary, and grateful they we're open late on a Sunday. Boyfriend ordered lasagna, I had the chicken with mushrooms and Swiss cheese. Both were subpar and not hot. The chicken was not tender and no spices were added to mushrooms. I wasn't sure if the mash potatoes were real or... more
When looking for pet-friendly accommodations, sometimes one can't be too picky. The Bear's Claw Lodge was a nice place to stay for the night. It was appropriately priced, considering that the rooms were a bit tight and lacking a table and chair. Amenities did include a microwave, refrigerator, and Wi-Fi, which were appreciated. The service was friendly at both the... more
My family had booked our room using a internet booking service - and were happy to see that the pics matched the actual room. We stayed in a room with a beautiful log bunk bed. The room was clean and comfortable for us all. The staff were very nice and inviting. We dined at the restaurant and the food was... more
We travel through Cache Creek often - and stop in when we can. Great food and good price. We have the burgers which are amazing
We were disappointed with some things that were lacking.
We has a little wait to register as the staff were busy cleaning the lobby.
We also had a long wait when we went to make inquiries and were unable to get Sandy after ringing the bell several times. Eventually Hollie helped with our queries.
This hotel was in a place...

Cache Creek isn't the best place to stop the night: a series of tired looking motels and gas stations by the highway. The Bear's Claw Lodge is the best-looking alternative, and it offers a lobby and lounge area. Our room was clean, pleasant, but small and dark. No coffee-making facilities, and thin pillows and a sagging mattress. On the plus... more
I was heading up to Cache Creek to do some Gold Country Geocaching and had read some good reviews on the Bear's Claw Lodge so I thought I'd give it a try. I was immediately impressed with how friendly and accommodating Sandy, the owner was.
You don't have the amenities that you're going to get with a big chain hotel,...

Stayed at the hotel and had breakfast here. Quick and tasty would recommend this to others. The hash browns are real potatoes
I wasn't familiar the area so booked Bear's Claw Lodge because of the great trip advisor reviews. I wasn't disappointed! The rooms were wonderful and the staff was so friendly! I would recommend this hotel to anyone
It has been a busy summer and now school has finally settled in and I can finally sit and write a few reviews. We blew the engine in our SUV passing through Cache Creek on our way to Whistler and found ourselves rolling into the parking lot (literally, with an overheated, dead engine) at the Bear Claw Inn in Cache... more
We looked at tripadvisor and saw this hotel rated number 1 - thinking it may be the most pricey in town. We foudn that the rooms were a great deal for such a cheap rate, The rooms were a good size, and clean. We only stayed the night but found it to be a great road stop.
The lodge looks good from the outside...all logs and lodge like but actually it is a motel where you park next to your room. And that's okay, too.
But enter the room and it is bare. There is no coffee service, no way of even boiling water to make tea. The shower is like a hose without a nozzle. Only...

We had a large trailer, and thanks to the huge lot we could pull in for lunch. Was a good, fast meal. I had the Reuben sandwich, and my partner had the soup and salad. Both were cheap and good
In a beautiful spot with great views, sit on the covered veranda in the morning drinking your coffee. We loved the antiques in the lobby and restaurant. We picked up some souveniers in the gift shop. The only thing missing was coffee makers in the rooms. Restaurant food was ok, very fast service.
We stayed at the hotel and decided to have both dinner and breakfast here. The food was well prepared and at a great price. My family is a bunch of picky eaters and the restaurant was able to accommodate even my picky boys
While passing through this labour day weekend - we needed to stay in Cache Creek. The lodge offered clean, home style rooms. Thanks to the friendly owners who made us feel so welcome. Cache creek does not have many quality places to stay - but this place is great
My friend and I came from the north after salmon fishing and the Bear Claw was the first motel we saw. It was dinner time and since there was a restraunt we decided to stop. After checking in we asked the gal if it would be possible to store 2 fish boxes in their freezer overnight so they would't thaw... more
Very comfy room...we walked in and were immediately charmed! Price is very very good, too. The woman who helped us was great! A nice stop on a long trip. Restaurant is right there too, so you don't need to go anywhere if you don't want to.
We stopped for a quick lunch while travelling home, and were there an hour and a half. The place wasn't that busy, but we waited almost a full hour for our food after placing our order.
Will never stop there again.
My family of four and I stopped here for supper and were one of only two or three other tables. We had a variety of entrees including a burger, fish & chips and kids meals. The food was tasty and the burger was home made and delicious. We enjoyed good service from a friendly and attentive waitress. I don't know... more
My husband and I had the opportunity to stay a night at this quaint log lodge. The reason we selected this one was because of the room they have for parking as we were pulling a small cargo trailer. The rooms are small but they contain the essentials, as well as a clean comfy bed.The only thing I did not... more
Had the growlies and was convinced by a friend to stop in.
Service was friendly but nothing else good to say about it. Food was comparable to what your college roommate whips up at 3am after a night drinking at the bar. Wilted salad, processed cheese....yuk.
We stayed at Bear Claw Lodge in Cache Creek on the way to Vancouver. Just a quick over-nighter. Are we glad we did. Sandy, one of the owners, couldn't have been more hospitable. We were looking for a room with a microwave but they were all taken. She said she would warm up our food. She did and gave us... more
The lasagne came and had a putrid odour to it, tasted a small bit and was definitely bad, with a sour awful taste. Even the waitress agreed it smelled bad. I am sure I would have been violently ill had i actually eaten it. Avoid this place. Staff in another local restaurant said this is fairly common experience at Bear... more
My husband and I stopped in @ Bear Claw lodge on our way to the coast at the end of January. We had an excellent sleep in a comfy bed. The gal at the front desk (owner's daughter) was very pleasant and helpful despite us getting there just as she was leaving for the night. Our room was great. And... more
stayed at the bear claw lodge last night when tired driving. The extremely noisy heater was so loud i preferred to sleep in the cold, secondly I got bitten horribly on my back neck and arms by bed bugs, and they revealed they were aware of the infestation the next morning. They did refund my money but it was of... more
Tried to spend the night at Bear's Claw on 24 October. After a horrible experience I wanted to share my thoughts - I see a lot of others also had similar opinions.
I must have had the same room as DRKNOWS as I too had a portable heater in the room. That, however, was not the problem.
When staying in...

This hotel has gone downhill.
We used to stay here when it first opened and it must be either under new management who do not care fix the place up or the previous management have lost interest.
Either way, I had a minimalist room in which the heater was broken on top of which they had placed a portable heater,...

A friend and I recently stayed overnight in Cache Creek. As we arrived in town a bit late we decided to go 'somewhere' that we could have an actual 'sit down' meal as opposed to fast food.
When we went into the Restaurant, there was only one other couple there and no waitress. We sat down and waited for several...

Great burgers! Not many places can make a good rueben sandwich. This place has a good cook. We really enjoyed our lunch here. Very tastey & real meat. Fries were not greasy, very tastey.
Have you ever paid $17.95 for an entree with processed cheese? Here's your chance!
I ordered Chicken with mushroom/swiss cheese sauce, accompanied by rice pilaf and vegetables. rice arrived plain. i complained. They re-did it. The cheese tasted suspicious... i asked server if it was processed. she didnt know but said she'd ask. yes, she said it was processed.

We had the misfortune of stopping at the Bear Claw for dinner. Was looking forward to a good dinner after a 4 hour drive from the coast. Unfortunately the veal cutlet was cold and the gravy on it was congealed = the rice was not cooked properly and was hard. We never got the second glass of water which the... more
Wow, I'm surprises this is ranked #8 of 8 hotels in this tiny town. We had a lovely stay when we pulled in from off the road in the evening. The restaurant had great food reasonably priced, and we stayed in the jacuzzi room (how wonderful after being on the road on motorcycles) for an extremely reasonable price. Sure, it's... more
Came here for dinner on our way up north. Terrible service - forgot our order so it took an hour and a half. The lasagna was inedible with a 1/2 inch layer of cheese on top. Really gross. And the service was absolutely awful.
We decided to try the Bear's Claw since we were passing through Cache Creek. It was getting late and we were getting hungry. We (98 year old Mother-in-law & I) stopped in for a quick bite and had a great time. The service was warm & friendly plus prompt, the food was the same, and the log cabin/lodge atmosphere was very pleasant.
We'll definitely go back for more.
I had dinner and breakfast here. Its a nice looking place airy and log-housy, but I didn't think it was good value at all. I don't have much experience eating in cache creek. The Main course was tasty, but the side salad, at around six dollars was absurdly small. I think my dinner bill came to more than 25 dollars... more
The room was pretty good value and it was clean and functional. It had a spartan loghouse pioneer aesthetic and a comfy chair would have been a nice addition. It took a while to check in as the single staff person working restaurant and reservations had her hands full, but she was pleasant. WiFi was not at all dependable.
