We LOVE The Beacher - they are especially great with kids, to the point where we go pretty much weekly with our toddler for breakfast. The very nice servers bring out a snack of watermelon and some water for our son as soon as we sit down, as an example. We have gotten to know the staff by name, as have they gotten to know us.

I guess people get really attached to spots simply for nostalgia's sake, but when I came here they were out of draft beer, the food was cold, the server was crabby and the kitchen staff angry. Had breakfast on the patio in July. Found the breakfast menu to be somewhat limited. The food was good but not great. Service was quite lackluster. Certainly many other better breakfast spots in the Beach OR make the short trip to Leslieville.

I have been coming to Toronto regularly for 20 years to visit my sister and we ALWAYS go to Beachers for brunch. Food is great, love the home fries, and peameal bacon and they cook the eggs exactly how you want them. $30 for two is good value and service is always quick and friendly.

Love the Beacher cafe for brunch on the weekend. My wife and I go often, and it's got a very 'home-style' feel to it. The decor literally makes you feel like you're in someone's living room, and the food is home-cooked good. Wholeheartedly recommended.

The location is great and the décor is charming with a veranda that wraps around the entire front. The food is consistently okay... not great and certainly not terrible. Worth a visit if you are close by but probably not worth a special trip to get there.

When I lived in the Beach, this was our "go to place" for Sunday Brunch.
While the wait times can be long, the food and friendly staff are worth the standing.

Great place for family brunch

For a family with a toddler, quick and efficient service is a must! The staff is cheerful, very friendly, and wonderful with children. The food was simple yet very tasty, and the service was excellent. The staff provide your child with crayons and coloring books, which is a nice touch.

The Beacher Cafe on the N. Side of Queen has been there for many years and it likely makes its money from the busy brunches on weekends and holidays.

Had a great brunch here, needed a great plate of breakfast greasy food to combat my poor stomach (ouch..).
