This is a good, budget motel. The owners were super friendly and the location was great. We did a quick check-in on our way to see sights in Vancouver. There's a restaurant close by and a Tim Horton's on the opposite corner. The unit we had included a kitchenette. Lighting was glary, but we had a place to bathe and sleep before catching an early ferry departure. If you prefer extra firm beds,... more
Staff was pleasant and helpful. Everything was in good order.
Rooms have been upgraded nice floors. Older hotel but good price and good location Nice people.
Friendly service, great room, easy to find.
Room was very hot and smelly, no screens on windows, air conditioner did nothing, kitchenette cabinets broken, coffee maker broken, coffee everywhere, shower curtain not hung properly, water everywhere!
We needed a hotel in the area to accommodate some cats in transit. The cats were pleased with the room and they meowed their praises on checkout.
We stayed one night en route from the Okanagan to Victoria after work one day. We even reserved ahead. I've stayed in lots of places where I feel like I'm roughing it a bit but c'est la vie. This place, however, is not a do-over. It was unclean, smelly, in disrepair, and the owners could have cared less. And even... more
Maid service only on request , holes in the wall, only thing it did have a working toilet bed and full kitchen with a fridge that ran all the time. Bath few towels they stored the trash out side my door for day and a half. Had a golf course on all 4 sides looked like a pimple on this street.
Place is run down and not all that clean. They forgot to clean the bathtub as there was a used bar of soap in the tub and shower door and tub was still wet from previous user. Our room was upgraded to a kitchenette at no cost and for the price it was ok if you don't mind a place that is a little run down. Owner was nice and helpful. Place is close to Downtown.
When we got to our Motel, there was some mix up in our accommodation. But, that was a quick fix. The room was clean, and so was the kitchen and bathroom areas. However, there was one thing that would of made our stay a little more comfortable was the floors were very cold on bare feet. Suggestion: Put some carpets on the bare spots on the floors please.
No phone in room, mold in bathroom, dirt everywhere, don't think the floors have been cleaned in a long time, stove filthy. Only saving grace, in location we wanted, the sheets and towels were clean. Would not stay here again.
Lipstick stained pillow cases, no fresh coffee refills, towels left on kitchen table instead of being put in bathroom, toilet backed up, room not serviced one of the days, terrible bed, oversized fuxtures in small room spaces, no soap or shampoo refills
Motel is dated, but still clean @ comfortable.......good for a 1 night stay.
Polite staff. Ok stay...bed comfy. Room needs some repairs but nothing major.
Bed was smaller than advertised and room was cool. We had an unfortunate incident with the glass shower door shattering but staff was quick to clean up and offered another room.
So, I agree with some of the previous postings that this is a quirky, strange, and piecemeal place to stay for a night. BUT, you can't argue with the price ($79/night for 2 bedrooms, a bath, and a kitchen area with fridge, sink and microwave. The motel is nothing special, but considering how close you are to the natural areas... more
Looks like the kind of place that was a bustling, cozy seaside motel: 30 years ago. Limply hanging Christmas lights, peeling paint, hair on the pillows, no light in the bedroom, the bathroom door is a bifold closet door, exposed electrical and plumbing in the room... It's bad. Don't bother.
Avoid this place.
I stayed here in years past a couple of times and remember a tidy, cute little motel. I should have checked the Trip Advisor reviews before staying here again. It is now a dump.
It is now run down and falling apart. I think the current owners are not putting any money into it and so the...

Could not sleep, found a used needle under bed! I slept in my car that night in the parking lot instead, as there was no refund. The manager turns on the "no vacancy" sign when he wants to watch the football game, and he and his family live in the front desk area. Don't stay at the Beach Grove Motel.
