Okay, so you probably have to drive into down for the attractions. But, you'd have to do the same from the Banff Springs or the Rimrock, and this place is way, way less expensive. It is a moderately priced hotel that is clean, friendly, and comfortable. The Keg restaurant anchored here too. Good reasonably priced place to stay ... only a 2 minute drive to downtown.
My fiancé and I stayed at this hotel this past weekend. The staff was friendly but our room was disgusting. The room smelt stale and musky, the duvet cover was full of someone's hair, the toilet ran, the shower backed up and didn't drain properly and there were burnt out light bulbs in the room. I would not stay at... more
My wife and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon and this hotel made Banff a really special part of our trip. We were upgraded to one of the suites which had a beautiful hot tub overlooking Banff and were greeted with a bottle of wine and a beautiful welcome and congratulations card. The room was just fantastic, everything... more
We have stayed at this property twice now, and both times we really enjoyed ourselves - the staff are wonderful, the beds are REALLY comfy (this is huge to me, i wanna SLEEP on my holidays) and we were never kept up by noise at night. (Probably because it's not in the downtown party of Banff, a 10 minute walk... more
Stayed at the Caribou Lodge for 4 nights in a standard room with 2 double beds and a balcony. The room was clean and had everything we needed for our snowboard trip. WiFi in the room was not good but we had a corner room so we assumed that was the reason for the weak signal.
After a day on...

Love love love this hotel. We stayed here for a week whilst skiing mid-February, and we couldn't of felt more warmly welcomed. After a longgg flight from London to Calgary, we were all pretty exhausted, and the guys at reception kindly carried my bags up to the room! Rooms had everything you needed, were clean, and had the most comfortable... more
A nice family hotel with a Keg next door. Is just a little too far from downtown to walk to dinner after a long physical day. Only thing about my room that irked me, as a regular business traveller was, yup, the shower head in my room. For a very regular traveller this one item has a disproportionate impact on... more
We stayed at the hotel in December 2014. The staff were excellent. I had the opportunity to visit the spa and it was wonderful.
Rooms were clean, and decorated nicely.
The restaurant in the hotel is The Keg. One of our favorite steak houses! Food was terrific.
My fiancé and I stayed here for 2 nights, and it was amazing. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are beautiful with all the theme cariboo touches, hence it being called the 'cariboo lodge'. A real touch of Canada! We've stayed in many hotels and this one, is one of our favourites by far, great price and right... more
Very small rooms with small double beds that were supposed to be queens. Room is small and either hot or cold. Breeze coming in window. No ac summers no way. Bedding is odd and would not stay on the bed over or under me. Not looking to go back. Also a long walk from downtown but they do have transit... more
Easy access to town, shuttle service to mountain. The daily breakfast was good. The staff are attentive. The rooms clean and comfortable. There were several ski clubs staying here at same time and the hotel managed the numbers easily.
Spent three nights in this lovely hotel, with those renowned feather duvets and pillows.
The wooden front entrance is wonderful, carved local wood. (Click to enlarge picture for a better view)
There is a Keg Restaurant which has the most delicious buffett breakfast, and wonderfully cooked steaks.
Unique Quality: Renowned for the feather duvets, both on top of the matress for you to sleep on,...

The Banff Caribou Lodge is located on the east end of the main street in Banff, Banff Ave., so it's not quite in the middle of all the action. The main part of town is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The lobby is decorated, as you would expect, like a lodge, dark brown woods and a big fire place in the middle, very inviting looking. The young man at the front desk when we checked in was... more
An Ok hotel - they tend to put bussloads of tourists here, so if you want someing quiet it may not be for you. Rooms are comfortable but basic, furniture is a bit old & lived in, but nice reception & restaurants. Keg restaurant there is just a chain and there are far better places to eat in town at cheaper prices. Staff as everywhere in canada are superb and very helpful.
We had an ealr bird...

We were 2 couples staying at the Banff Caribou Lodge And Spa and had a great time. We got a great deal when we booked as part of a trip with Canadian Affair. I sent an E-mail ahead with a couple of questions and mentioning the fact that it was our anniversary and we were all upgraded and a card, message and bottle of bubbly were left in our room. The room was fine with more than enough room,... more
Banff Caribou Lodge was not the nicest hotel I've ever been to. The room smelt of cigarette smoke, the bathroom door wouldn't close, and the curtains were in disarray. Staff weren't too friendly.
Unique Quality: This hotel has 3 hot-tubs, a steam room, and a sauna, as well as a "The Keg" restaurant.
Warm and cosy!!!
We really enjoyed staying at the Caribou Lodge. We knew it was the right decision when we saw the place. It looked as good as it does on the website. It was exactly as we were hoping and met every expectation we had.
We hopped off the bus at night and saw a hotel covered in snow with Christmas lights and decorations all over the exterior. It just looked incredible. We headed...

I would definitely recommend this hotel. It has friendly guest services, great service from the Keg Restaurant that is in the hotel, clean and comfortable rooms. My only issue with my room (Rm # 359) is that you could hear EVERYTHING. Specifically, I could hear people outside my room walking down the halls. If you're a light sleeper, the walls are pretty thin. With that exception, the... more
Fantastic stay. Helpful front desk and clean, spacious accommodations. Hot tub and steam room are great features and with the Keg it's great to have a somewhat active bar.
Enjoyed the stone fireplace in the lobby. Great spot to read, meet and visit. Beds are comfy and pillows are great! Light on smoke detector was a bit like a spot light though. The large jacuzzi pool downstairs was really nice and relaxing. Found the exercise room too warm though. Did not try the Red Earth Spa (time limitations on our part) but would next visit. It looked very nice. All... more
Very good hotel within 15 mins walking distance of the shops. Good reception area, bar & restaurant and the rooms were clean and typical hotel rooms. A good free spa with optional extra spa treatments and the reception staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for us during our stay. A bit more expensive than some others in the area but reasonable value for money. Recommended
The Lodge was nice and the staff friendly. It was within walking distance of downtown. The room was adequate, newly renovated and clean. Our particular room however, was not in a good location. We came for a quiet weekend of R&R. Right above us was was the renovation team - alot of banging and scraping noise early and late in the day. Next to the room was the staircase, and across the hall was... more
No I would not recommend to others. It was a tiny room, and they put us in a room that overlooked a really not so nice courtyard overlooking other peoples windows instead of the beautiful mountains. The breakfast was good except the cut up fresh fruit had a taste of being around for a couple of days. and it was a long way to town. The decorations and quality of the bathrooms and bedding were... more
Good value for the money, attentive service, met our expectations.
Stayed for a couple of nights over Valentine's weekend and loved the lodge. Had a very comfortable king bed with turn down service and chocolate hearts. A big plus was the window that opens (can be hard to find in Banff hotels) since the heat can be somewhat stuffy at times. A little disappointed that the lobby fireplace was out of working order pending repairs, but the hotel restaurant and... more
No problems with this hotel, well furnished, comfortable (especially the beds) and friendly staff. Restaurant was very busy which is a good sign, although we used the ones in town which are a 10 minute walk away. When we stayed it was mainly mature english tourists on coaches staying-no bad thing as they don't wake you up in the wee small hours after a night on the town. If you're booking as a... more
