I personally don't shop here, however, have come here to get a sweater for my cousin's B-day who likes the beige and the bland. Prices are mid range. Customer service was a bit snobby but I was there to buy something for my cousin and not for me.

I'm very short (5'2") and athletic, which means it is almost impossible for me to find pants that fit properly. Either the legs will be way too long, or the pants will fit okay in the hips and thighs but be huge in the waist. I had a few job interviews and really needed dress pants, so I followed my friends recommendations and went to Banana Republic.

This is an update for the quality: the shirts I bought here already have holes in them. The dress shirt doesn't since I hardly wear it. I plan to shop elsewhere.

From reading other Yelpers' comments, it is clear that this location has mistaken itself for Leone. But I had good service. I don't shop at Banana Republic for myself because it just isn't my style. I probably could find a few items in here but overall, it's just not a store that I've ever had a reason to shop at (other than for my mother, maybe).

The Robson location of Banana Republic is by far one of my favourite locations. The fact that there are three floors (mens, womens, and petite/Heritage collection) mean that it is a more calm shopping experience. Yay, 75% off sale, just on last season's fashion! bought a few work pants, and there was a trendy black trench coat that with the 75% off, cost about $85 which is a great deal. too bad i've got 2-3 of these lol. I just didnt like the high lappel, but the 3 button was cool, and the slanted style pockets.

It's a steal by BR standards!

I shopped at BR for 20 years.
Good:
-Clothing quality and followup customer service have remained consistently high.
-Their clothes accommodate, and flatter, a variety of body types.
Bad:
-Clothing styles and colours have gone from "unique classic" to "bland conservative".
-Prices have spiraled out of control. In one year, I saw a classic pant go up $60 in price, to $240.

I have a soft spot for Banana Republic, since it was my introduction to nicer clothes and a tad traditional menswear. You really have to respect a company that attempts to bring back some sense of style in a generation where wearing a shirt with buttons is considered "dressing up".

Having worked at a Banana Republic store in Calgary in my youth, I have a soft-spot for BR and its classic tailoring and luxe fabrics.

Having said that, the thing I miss the most about working at BR was the significant discount I received...the mark-up is obvious but most people are aware of this. If not, you've been told! Waiting for the sale days is completely worth it. If you simply must... more
