BC Place is the largest sports, exhibition and entertainment venue of its kind in British Columbia, hosting the province’s most notable events including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. An all-new BC Place reopened in September 2011 after completing a major revitalization that included the installation of the largest cable-supported retractable roof... more
From june til early November this is the home of the CFL BC LIONS-- My team. When in town This is the place that roars. Have a snack or a meal have some wine or a beer. Enjoy the action and have some fun for everyone. This is also the home of the WHITECAPS--Vancouvers major league soccer team--April to October.... more
Saw the NHL Heritage Classic. The new roof gives the whole stadium a lighter cleaner atmosphere. I think BC place is much improved over the dark dismal cave it used to be.
what a great stadium. The open roof is great during the summer months and really added to our Lions game we caught while in Van.
Have you ever been in a building that you instantly feel the energy of it. This place has it and it must be experienced for one's self.
From the outside you think well thats a pretty neat building. You walk up and see this very unique monument to Terry Fox that you absolutely have to take photos of and pose...

What a jewel of a stadium and one that Vancouverites can be proud of. Its been updated and the improvements are very impressive. Great for watching a BC Lions football game with great views from every seat, easy access to amenities and washrooms and polite, helpful staff to answer your questions.
My family and I attended a BC Lions football game on October, they were playing against the Edmonton Eskimos, and yes they did win that game! It was our first time in the stadium, and we were so impressed with what we saw. I felt that it was well marked and easy to find the section that we given. The... more
I've watched both the BC lions and the Vancouver Whitecaps play here. I've been to stadiums in New York, Ireland and throughout the UK, and this easily measures up with top marks for view, ease of access, toilet facilities and catering.
I have to say, the Whitecaps decision to not use the upper tier was wise, they fill the lower...

And so did we, this was our first visit back to the new and improved venue, the Band playing outside, the energy from everyone added to the experience. We sat in the Bud Zone and there was no issue with seating or view of the field. Much improved over the old place, wish the crowd was bigger, but we were... more
Lovely arena, well located and very friendly atmosphere. Went to watch the Whitecaps play whilst on holiday and really enjoyed it. The roof was covered which helped as there was a storm playing out outside the arena. Sadly the 'Caps lost but was a great experience and to see how a football crowd from another country treats a game.
The main problem with the stadium is it's just too big both for the Lions & the Whitecaps, the only occasions it will fill-up are Grey Cup finals & maybe a concert once in a while. The retractable roof is also a joke, when open one sees a little sky obstructed by cables & the video screens/scoreboard, all in all a... more
We booked some tickets for the BC Lions before we went on holiday. Decided to shell out for the club seating and was glad we did. Had great view of the pitch and a very nice lady to fetch the food and drink for us. When the opposition were attacking the noise inside the stadium was great even with the... more
B.C. Place is worth a visit - especially it is worth to go and see a hockey game - The crowed and the excitment is increadible and a very special thing experience
Place Stadium is quite a large stadium, home to the Whitecaps. Great game atmosphere and kept up decently.
The atmosphere for Whitecaps games is amazing. They're a lot better than Lions games or Canucks games, and the crowd is much more energized. The Southsiders and Curva Collective are standing and cheering all game long, and they get everyone else in to the game. In other sports, the crowds need something to spark them, but 'Caps fans are constantly... more
Place was huge, nice looking but watching a concert was hard. We were really far away. I guess it depends on stage set up but we had a hard time seeing.
Very nice stadium! Love that they have local beers. Wish the team was better. Fantastic that the stadium is downtown, compared to places like Boston/NY/DC/Philly where you have to drive way out of the city.
Our family has been season ticket holders to the BC Lions since day one. We have sat in all the stadiums Vancouver had to offer: Empire Stadium in the freezing cold drinking hot chocolate to stay warm, the original awful, cavernous BC Place, the meccano Empire Field, and now the new and greatly improved BC Place. We have seen some... more
I wouldn't ever go back to BC Place again. I cannot tell you how hot is was up on 4th level, on a sunny day, with the roof closed. I would like my money back it was so unbearable and with 2 small children? Absolutely horrible. I asked a security guard and she said they normally open the roof and... more
If in Vancouver and you have the opportunity of seeing a Whitecaps game, I would recommend that you go. I recently attended my first soccer match and had a great night, the stadium is world class and the facilities great. Fortunately we had great seats (row EE) will an excellent view of the stadium.
The atmosphere was amazing and it's...

BC Place Stadium, located in downtown Vancouver, BC, is the home field for the Canadian Football League's British Columbia Lions and the Major Soccer League's Vancouver Whitecaps. Watching a game at BC Place during the summer is much more comfortable now that the roof is retractable. Before with the roof covering the stadium, the air was quite muggy.
My wife and I went to see Paul McCartney at BC place. The sound was excellent for a large Venue and the upgrades to the facility are first rate.
You must go to a Vancouver Whitecaps soccer match if they are in town when you are. The atmosphere is electric and fans are definitely fanatical. Pick up some kind of team apparel or you may feel left out. The scarves are an affordable souvenir. Stay away from the foot long hotdogs, not nearly as tasty as the regular size.... more
I've been a Whitecaps FC season ticket holder since BC Place underwent its $500 million+ renovation. I must say, this venue makes football matches absolutely ELECTRIC. With the way that BC Place configures its seating, there isn't a bad seat in the house. All seats are large, cozy and comfortable. The high definition TV hanging from the centre of the... more
Great venues attracts great stars, and we are so lucky to have another facility to give more options of concerts, indoor sports for Vancouver..
again in the downtown area..not far from anything happening in Vancouver..great locations from any downtown hotels or bus or sky train
We have been to BC Place twice since the mega million dollar make over. Thought with replacement of the inflated dome and removal of the airlocks, that ingress to the facility would be improved. I think it is worse than ever, taking well over 40 minutes for both The Wall and McCartney concerts.
Nothing not to like.... This stadium after it's 'redo' is something to see.....very comfortable seating, no such thing as a bad seat, and easy entering and exiting..... more
This was our first visit to the Stadium since it was renovated. Absolutely beautiful. Was very impressed with the new food vendors ... loved our Indian feast at Viij's.
enthusiastic crowds, and good football. good views of the field from all seats. pleasant attendants. easy getting in and out. public transit is nearby.
This stadium is state of the art. Very nice attractive building and great seats all over the stadium. The concessions were decent. The new scoreboard and room is totally out of this world. I will be going back to this venue for further attactions and shows.
Best. Concert. Ever. I don't think I could've asked more, fantastic showman, played all the songs I wanted to hear, didn't stop for 3 whole hours!
To me, it's just a big cement sttructure without much character. The new 'roof' does nothing for me. The amenities are expensive, but that seems to be par for the course.
We came here for the McCartney concert, and were not disappointed. The sound was amazing with the new roof, and we were pretty far away (as most are in this place). The price for food and drinks are hefty, but most concerts and sporting goods are the same when it comes to pricing. Seats are good for sitting for a... more
This place is huge! Food and drinks are very expensive $8.50 per beer!! But a great experience. We went for the Paul McCartney concert and the sound was great...as we were told it would be now with the new roof. However the stage is so far away...no matter where your seat is...it's a long way to the middle of the... more
Walk across the street to BC Place or down the street to the Rogers Center......and for a little bit of a walk, head over to the Edgewater Casino, or a nice view of Falde Creek
First time here was for the Western Finals where the Lions were defending last year's victory. Unfortunately it did not repeat and they lost. Nevertheless, the experience here was fun. A lot of walking, mostly due to the fact we went into the first entrance we saw instead of the one closest to our seats. There were a decent amount... more
After the Olympics in 2010, our famous mushroom topped some was deflated and a construction project began inside and out of BC Place to modernize. The raised retractable roof, which I was dead-set against, quickly grew on me, as inside its airy and light (especially for fair-weather afternoon games when the roof can be opened) and I love what they... more
Recently went toa BC Lions game and thoroughly enjoyed the game, the Lions were on fire!!! We had missed dinner, so we grabbed a light snack while we were at the game which consisted of a schnitzel in a bun and some really hard chips. The schnitzel itself was nothing to write home about and the chips taste like cardboard.... more
there just seems to be miles of concrete corridors to traverse to get anywhere. once in, the stadium is great and the sports and events terrific
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at BC Place. The seats are a little uncomfortable, but its a football game! what do you expect?
I went to the last game against the eskimos and since it was close to halloween the stadium was decked out in orange and black with pops of pink to support breast cancer! The energy was great...

The new big screen is amazing, the open roof is fun, doesnt seem so much like a big cavern. Acoustics are also good, considering the size!
Has the second largest indoor screen----the one in the Dallas Cowboys stadium is bigger. Great when the roof is open and when the home team scores the outdoor lights are orange for football and blue for soccer. Comfy seats with cupholders and the Terry Fox Plaza outside that tells the story of Terry's cross canada run for cancer research.
From the Executive Airport Plaza Hotel (Richmond) we decide to go see around team the Montreal alouette playing against vancouver at the BC place.
We take the sky train (subway) wow so easy to go down town and to see that beautifull city without any parking problem it's cheap and easy and user fiendly....good job vancouver
Definitely recommend experiencing this place at least once in a lifetime!! Great shows, and alot of fun! I dont even like foot ball but had a blast!
Great weather, Open roof, BC Lions what more could you want!! We went to the SHARK CLUB they have the BEST food friendly staff. You can walk to Yale town great little shops and places to eat!
Folks who go to BC Place sometimes pass by the memorial to Terry Fox in front of the stadium. They shoud not. Had the pleasure lately of walking from our hotel across the street and learning of Terry and his valiant effort to raise cancer awareness. The memorial in front of the stadium tells his story and we could all... more
Love the new roof, watched it open before game. Enjoyed game under the stars. Although with all the advertising signage around stadium it was very distracting. More noticeable than anything else in building is advertising (all lighting for this outshines the game or evening sky). New seats are roomy and great cup holders, too bad people are not respectable to... more
Saw Roger Water's THE WALL at BC Place Arena - incredible sound, amazing concert, and the host that was in my area was great, really made my experience better (no one standing in front of my view!)
It has very comfortable seats and the view from all sides is great. Love the new closing and opening roof.
This was our first visit to BC Place to watch a Whitecaps game. The retractable roof was open and allowed for a beautiful night on the pitch. Our seats were cushioned with plenty of leg room and cup holders for your beverages. The reason I only gave it a rating of 4 was the food...not good and overpriced. I expect... more
Old is new again. Bright, Airy, Well lit and unobstructed views. An excellent job with the renovations. Its hard to believe it is almost a 30 year old building.
BC Place Stadium is downtown's gigantic stadium and home to the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Its claim to fame is that it is the world's largest air-supported dome. It opened in 1983 and was constructed with enough concrete to build a sidewalk from this city to Tacoma, Washington. From July to November, it plays host to the Canadian Football League's BC Lions.
