After a night out with some friends on a visit to Victoria we found Avalon because it was very close to our Airbnb.

The food is tremendous, the server is so friendly and the ambiance is homey and casual.

Called at 1:30 to ask if they had all day breakfast and they said yes we are open until 3:00. Arrived at 1:40, sat down and then they said sorry we are closed.

Simple, OK food at a decent price. Prompt, unintrusive service.
House hot sauce is quite good -- not too hot, slightly sweet.
Rather tiny place with interesting artwork on the walls.

This lovely little hideaway is my mothers favourite breakfast spot. I had been here before but never bothered to leave a review until now. The location is great and an easy walk for anyone in downtown Victoria. The restaurant seats only about 10-15 people and has a very open atmosphere.

In a city where brunch is a big deal, the most important detail the Avalon can advertise is that they don't have a line-up.
