Located on the riverfront in Old Montréal, the 27-room Auberge du Vieux-Port has shabby-chic charm in spades. Exposed brick or stone walls, casement windows opening onto the St. Lawrence River (ask for that view), wood floors, and brass beds make it all romantic; wireless Internet, a glass of wine a day, and inclusive full American breakfast are just candy. Many rooms have Jacuzzis; all have... more
Get a massive dose of 19th century charm at this cozy inn overlooking the old port. Each creaky wooden floorboard has a secret to tell and if these stone walls could talk they'd tell torrid tales of history and romance. 27 intimate and elegant rooms perched above cobblestone streets and the Saint Lawrence river offer a respite from the throngs of snap-happy day-trippers below. Despite being... more
I did a lot of research before choosing a hotel for our trip and let me say I made the right decision!!!
The staff are exceptional, the hotel is very charming, and my overall experience was far better than usual, and I stay at some very expensive and highly rated hotels.
Customer service is very important to me and they...

other than the little things that i will mention below, it was really nice, great ambiance. Parking is going to be difficult if you aren't willing to pay for the valet service. and the lofts are right in the middle of the old port, close to all the different historic attractions and restaurants etc.
Hot water didn't last long enough to fill the tub for a hot jacuzzi bath, lighting in the...

This place is amazing. We arrived to find we weren't staying in the main building, but in the one around the corner. Not a problem, the fantastic bell hop grabbed our suitacases and led us up and around the corner, along a couple blocks of cobblestoned streets until we reached the other property. He then proceded to carry both (very heavy) suitcases up 41 steps (we counted) as though they... more
Beautiful old hotel.Staff was really good especially concierge. Lighting rather dark esp. kitchen. Coffee maker but no coffee.People need to know rooms are not accesible in The Lofts. Whirpool tub best I have ever experienced. Restaurant staff excellent.Would recommend highly.
From arrival to departure guest service was superb.... check in at the front desk (yes, it's a desk!) was a treat ... attention to our every need was primary focus of staff every step of the way .... stay here .... you'll soon learn the meaning of great customer service!!
My fiancée and I had the most wonderful time staying at this hotel! We opted for one of the loft rooms (for the same price as a standard room), which is in a different building from the main hotel, and we did not regret our decision one bit. The room was modern, while retaining some of the old charm that... more
Very friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful old hotel. Excellent old Montreal location.
My husband and I stayed at Auberge du Vieux-Port and were very pleased. We had purchased a special that included a discounted third night and a few extras. Check-in was smooth, and the room was exceptional; it felt much more like staying at an inn or someone's home than a hotel.
The room had a beautiful rustic feel that was...

We stayed at the Auberge for our 15th anniversary weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. The front desk and bell staff were warm, friendly and so helpful. Our room was just perfect - I think it's the one in our guidebook. Great bed with squishy pillows and good shower with sunflower shower head for rain-style shower, in addition to regular nozzle.... more
So nice - the rooms are clean, posh, and a little rustic. The staff is so accommodating and helpful. Both our stays at this hotel have been great. Wonderful location right on the port, great views from the windows on the river side too. Can't go wrong.
I have just returned from staying at this hotel for five days. My room was very attractively decorated in a comfortable contemporary style and the bathroom was large and stylish as well as efficient, with a multi-head shower (no tub) that was great after walking all day. While the lobby was small, the breakfast included in the room price was... more
I decided not to stay at the downtown hotel where my confrerence was being held and instead opted for the Auberge in Old Montreal. What a great decision! This hotel is wonderful. The room was immense, the amenities first class and the included breakfast was delicious. I will be back the next time I am in Montreal.
My husband and I and our two boys, 14 and 11, stayed in this lovely hotel. We immediately felt at home when the doorman came out to the street and starting loading our suitcases on his cart.
The rooms are sweet with exposed brick on one wall and hard wood floors throughout. It didn't have that hotel feel but a...

We stayed at Auberge du Vieux-Port for two days. The location is perfect! The front of the hotel is facing the Port & the back faces a beautiful street with many great shops & restaurants. The hotel is in old Montreal which in my opinion exudes the most beauty & feeling of a nice European city. The cobblestone streets &... more
Excellent hotel. Good service and very friendly staff. The only thing that was not clear in the room description is that it was in a separate building and up four flights of stairs. I was traveling with my mother who recently had a hip replacement and there was no way she could have managed the stairs. The hotel was very accommodating and switched the room to one with an elevator, but it was... more
They are the WORST customer service I have ever dealt with!!! They were extremely rude and unhelpful, DO NOT GO THERE!
LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION! ...this is the best spot in a beautiful locations surrounded by great restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. Besides that, the staff was amazing. Super friendly. The girl that checked us in - Millen (I hope I spelled her name right) was beyond helpful. Gave us great recommendations, made reservations and put us on couple of VIP lists. The room was huge and gorgeous -... more
We stayed here for a romantic weekend getaway and I was so glad I did. The service was excellent. Special thanks to Trifon for being so accomodating. He knew that I wanted it to be a special night so he found a room that would suit my purpose. They are so hardworking and really take the time to make you feel good. The hotel is sexy and old-world and the Tavern Gaspar beside it is quite... more
Great place to stay when exploring Montreal. Close to lots of wonderful restaurants. Bed is utterly sumptuous !!!! The rain shower head is great also. All in all, a great spot at a very reasonable price that includes breakfast which is ok. One suggestion - ask to stay in the old section. - lots more character to the rooms although the rooms on the newer section were nice also just not... more
This hotel was perfect. It was beautifully decorated and had so much charm. It was classier than any hotel I've ever stayed in and I have traveled a lot! The rooms were wonderfully equipped with nice soaps and lotions. Snacks and drinks were available if you needed them. Wonderful location with views of the river and park across the street. Staff was attentive, helpful and friendly. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room also had an upscale bathroom. The hotel had modern and old world charm mixed together. Fantastic restaurants within steps of the hotel.
We stayed here over Labor Day weekend. I don't think you can find a better location in Montreal, it is right in the middle of Old Montreal. The room was very nice and had a great view. Overall the service was very good, but it varied from person to person. The one disappointment was the restaurant. Breakfast was just okay. One day they ran out of danishes, and on two of the mornings, it was... more
Room was big, had full kitchen, free wifi, Cable TV, DVD player, but we were on 3rd floor and there was no elevator - up & down 3 flights of stairs each day. Room had great view, but not much in sound proofing. Down in city, has sounds of night life, traffic sounds - bring ear plugs!
+Très bien situé dans le vieux Montreal, mais les chambres donnant sur la rue piétonne sont sujettes aux sons divers des festoyants nocturnes..! Lenteur de l'ascenseur et du personnel et pas de salle de mise en forme... more
The loft is spacious and furnished with taste using old and new appliances and furnitures that make an artistic blend, homely with a great look towards 200 yeras of history. Matches perfectly the surroundings of the Old City.
Would always choose this one again! The location is perfect, and the friendliness and kindness of the staff is fantastic.
Nice place. Would recommend it for people who like more bed and breakfast type places, and less business trip kind of hotels. Nice room, and a good restaurant. I think that the room could have been a little cleaner, but I am a neat freak. A women (don't know her name) at the front desk, who works the evening shift from about 4 to i don't know when, is very nice, and gives GREAT restaurant... more
Had a really wonderful stay here for three nights (stayed one night at Hostelerie Pierre du Calvet- AMAZING!). Prime location right in Old Montreal near the wharfs and St. Lawrence. Really nice place. Pricey, but worth it if you can afford to splurge. What puts it over the top is the excellent service. Everyone here is so helpful and ready to make your trip to Montreal the absolute best. The only downside was limited TV channels in English. Oh well, I'll have to learn French before I come next!
Stayed here a couple years back and we enjoyed it very much. A small, rustic hotel with much charm and a friendly staff. The location is perfectly situated in Old Montreal/Vieux Port, with a beautiful view of Fleuve St. Laurent. Would definitely stay here again.
I have 3 days weekend in this hotel, it have very good service.
Our recent stay at Aubuege du Vieux Porte was heightened by the excellent personal service we were afforded by the staff who were friendly and helpful throughout. The location is wonderful and the rooms fantastic. And I think the bed was the most comfortable ever found in a hotel. Expensive but well worth it. Dan and Lisa
my girlfriend and i wnet to that place and we enjoyed to much.but i dont want explain, since, you should and should try.after that you reach my feeling.
I have stayed at the Auberge Due Vieuxport twice in the past 3 years - and loved every minute of it. The other reviews tell the story - so I won't repeat it. Nice Boutique style hotel in the Old Port of Montreal. The room was clean, very nicely decorated and had a nice view of the river. The staff was very helpful and the bar and restaurant below is very nice as well. They even comped our meal one night at the bar with was cool. If I go back to Montreal, I would definately stay here.
We discovered this hotel 3 years ago, on our first visit to Montreal. We were there for our babymoon, and I was hankering for something sweet, so we stopped at their restaurant and got dessert. The place was really nice, and when we got back home, hubby looked at their website and decided that on our next trip to Montreal, this is where we would stay. And we did! Pros: friendly, helpful staff.... more
We would love to go back. The hotel was exquisite. The attention to detail was unbelievable. The concierge was amazing. He was so helpful and knowledgeable. The bed was incredibly comfortable and all of the room appointments were... more
The actual hotel is perfectly located for a nice trip to the touristy Old/Vieux Port part of Old Montreal. My wife and I stayed at the Auberge du Vieux port as a romantic get away. When we arrived, they put us in a room that had not been cleaned and room service had not been through it. The hotel drove my car into a cement parking lot support. I... more
The location is excellent if you want to be in the old port area. You can easily walk to restaurants. It’s a 10 minute walk to the metro. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.
But there are things you should be aware of if you’re thinking about staying in a loft. This applies only to the loft (apartment) number 603.

My husband and I loved everything about this inn. It made our having to get off our luxury cruise ship in Montreal all the better. Michael and Daniel were both wonderful and helpful. This hotel was way more amazing than I had anticipated after finding a great rate on hotels.ca. The food was perfect and the staff were very helpful! great location and the room are spotless and wonderful! will definetly return!! Thanks :)
It was just perfect! Eat down stairs and ask what they would recommend. My God that was the best dining I have ever had in my life. The room on the river was amazing and the area was beautiful and interesting. We went back again and it was still wonderful.
This hotel was lovely, and the location is excellent. We had fun here, but the pace of service is very slow and sometimes a bit nonchalant. But if you want things perfect, stay home. So all in all, it was an interesting adventure staying here. Coincerege Michael was most helpful!
This was a charming hotel -- we often stay in hotels for business, so were looking for something that seemed more like a vacation. This was perfect -- we loved hanging out in our room, eating breakfast in front of the beautiful floor to ceiling windows, taking baths in the jacuzzi...the restaurant was excellent. The hotel has the intimacy that you need for a break from a hectic life, but... more
This hotel was nice, but a little pricey for my wallet. My friend and I stayed in room 504 with two queen beds for $260 a night plus taxes. Foreign tourists to Canada can get the taxes refunded on purchases over $50. In our room the remote would not work and we were short some towels, but the hotel staff brought a new remote. Just outside the door of the room is the linen chest, so we just... more
I and my husband will never forget the good time we spent there as we were 100% satisfied.

Loved the service, location and Oh what a gorgeous room. The room was a little chilly when I first entered but it was in Montreal :).
My husband and I stayed here in early August and had a wonderful time. The hotel is centrally located in the historic district of Montreal, in front of the port, near lots of great restaurants, sidewalk cafes, art galleries and museums. Our room was fairly large with very comfortable brass bed, stone walls, wooden floors and large windows opening up to the river. The bathroom was equipped with... more
Loved the full floor to ceiling french windows. Large room and jacuzzi. Have your breakfast brought to your room - it's included in the price of the room - and was just about my favorite part of the trip. Staff was super freindly and helpful. Valet parking which is required in that part of town was excellent. Go up to the roof for the fireworks.
