Stayed in the riverside motel units, dated and in need of a renovation badly. However, the view and the fresh breeze makes up for what they lack. Do not bother with combo meal packages better and more reasonable dining options in town
A million dollar view and good restaurant , but that's about it. Our room was tired. There was no clock, coffee, fridge, hair blower etc which one would assume would come in a 3 star hotel.Ice was only available from reception and the only wi-fi was in the lobby. But,the view was spectacular and the staff was great.
Once again this year my husband and I stopped here on our way to Nova Scotia from Ontario.
This hotel is right on the St. Lawrence river and the views are spectacular. The hotel is pet friendly as we travel with our Newfoundland dog.
They have a restaurant that serves breakfast and delicious dinners.
We stayed in one of the motel units ($214+tx, including 4 course dinner and breakfast for 2; $114+tx, no meals). The room was very large with floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall windows, which gave a wonderful view of the St. Lawrence River. The room was dated but had a very comfortable and firm king bed, small sofa, arm chair, straight-backed chair, and... more
This is a place to loose track of time and completely relax. The scenery is out of this world and the restaurant is excellent. There are many lawn chairs spread out over the lawn. Also, there is a place to walk to the waters edge.
I don't need a fancy place to rest my head when travelling I just need a clean room, a shower and a comfy bed. The view is amazing. But I only got an hour of the view before the sun went down. This place is old, it smells and doesn't feel clean. There is no clock in the room. There... more
At least once a year we stay over on our way down or back to New Brunswick at the Auberge du Faubourg - and there are about 50 reasons why, of which I only have space for talking about why I think this is such a jewel, sitting on the southside of the St. Lawrence River about 60 or so... more
The Auberge Du Faubourg used to be an icon of St. Jean Port Joli as the upscale hotel with an elegant dining room. However time and neglect have left this grande dame of a hotel in a state of disrepair and deterioration that likely is beyond recovery.
I made a reservation for a two night stay for the end of...

Perfect spot to spend the night when travelling to the maritimes from the GTA. The food was delicious and the cabin we stayed in was very clean and was right on the St. Lawrence, beautiful view.
It is pet friendly we had our big Newfoundland dog with us.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
A decent place. Rooms are clean and the price is reasonable. The view is spectacular and most rooms have a direct view of the river. We had dinner and wine on the lawn in front of the river and that was amazing. Service was ok, rooms should include basic info about the hotel, like where to find ice etc.
The Auberge Du Faubourg is in transition with one section, where we stayed, slated for redevelopment. There is a condo, possibly a time-share, being built on the eastern corner of this large property on the St. Lawrence River which is behind the unit we stayed in. Our accommodation was adequate but steeped in the remnants of early 1960s motel leisure.... more
We were 2 days at this hotel, it was wonderfull. The spa, its cuisine and its river sight are the best.
The people are very kind and give a good service to their visitors.
The only thing is this hotel would be offer their jacuzy service the whole year or offer other amenities.
I'm frustrated for not enjoying the pool...

Our room and its bathroom were clean, but the room did have a musty odour and the furnishings were tired. As mentioned by the other reviewer, this is a motel not an auberge.
At one point the owner may have had designs on creating a true retreat, as the view out over the St. Lawrence River towards the Le Massif...
