Great boutique hotel with beautiful rooms huge shower and nice view. Great service at the desk and excellent breakfast included in the restaurant
Just arrived and unpacked, so review based on the last hour.
I just screwed up an Expedia reservation for two days starting tonight. I came into the small but tasteful lobby and waited for the attendant. I smiled, gave him my name, and told him that I had a reservation with Hotwire. He checked his computer and said he couldn't find it: had I used another name? No, I just made it an hour ago....

This is an amazing hotel. The lobby and front desk are beautiful. Upon arrival we were given a glass of champagne and were upgraded from a standard queen room to a suite at no extra cost. The suite was amazing, clean and contemporary. As you entered the foyer we made our way through a door on the right where there was a living room with a large armoire, sofa and terrace and a full bathroom.... more
My husband took me here for my birthday dinner. Service, food, ambiance was absolutely stellar. Everything was perfect from beginning to end.
What an amazing hotel experience!! Nestled in Old Montréal. Views of Notre Dame. Walking easy to all that is exciting. Staff is absolutely delightful, knowledgeable about anything you can ask, full of personality. Restaurant and bar top notch. Try the Sazarac. Rooms are comfy and nicely appointed. Go!
What a wonderful find, friendly front desk beautiful building. The location perfect for walking to old town and getting on metro. The breakfast amazing!
Had lunch and two dinners here and it was consistently excellent in every way. Did both table d'hote and chef's tasting menu, so sampled much of the menu, and everything was just great! Staff was attentive, helpful and friendly throughout. Don't miss it if you are in Montreal!
A lovely hotel, well situated in old Montreal. Rooms were spacious with comfortable furniture (including a great bed). The only downside was the shower pressure was not strong, it worked but I have had better. Breakfast is included in the price, and there is a good selection of options. Staff were friendly and very helpful.
Best hotel ever. From ambience to staff to continental breakfast and location- all top shelf. A little nervous about managing in French? This hotel smoothes away that fear with experienced and kind assistance. Rooms are well designed, clean and cozy after a cold day in the old city. The views inside and out are museum worthy. Continental breakfast included with your room is like none other.... more
Samuel and Helen, our concierges were fabulous!!!! The hotel was lovely, spotless, friendly, and the breakfast was yummy!
My friend Deborah and I can't wait to tell our friends and return soon.
Thank you
I was in Room 509. Great view with nice balconyBreakfast was first classRestaurant was busy. The set menu made the evening dinner specialThe hotel is down town in Montreal old city. You can walk to most places within 10 mins
wonderful hotel in wonderful location. Staff so helpful and friendly. Definitely will stay here again when next in Montreal.
We had a fantastic stay here. The room was really large & extremely clean. The breakfast was really great with juice, yoghurt, fruit salad & a choice for a coked meal with toast, croissant or muffins. Great start to the day.
Great breakfast included in the price! Some difficulty with the internet.
The Hotel Bonaparte is highly recommended; super friendly & knowledgeable staff, great location, and value. Walking distance to art galleries, restaurants, and must see sites. One of the city's greatest treasures, the Notre Dame Basilica is in the same block.
Exceptionally convenient location and old world charm with all modern comforts. The staff were knowledgable and friendly- exactly what a boutique hotel experience should be. Will seek to return here whenever in Montreal!
Loved the room, the staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was superb. Excellent location in the middle of the old world charm of Montreal. Parking is easy almost straight across the road.
A wonderful place in old Montreal. Staff treated us really well. The brunch is great and lots of great food places nearby.
We had a great experience at this hotel. The manager was very helpful and suggested a very good restaurant for dinner. There was complimentary water, tea and coffee which is a nice touch along with free wi-fi. We really enjoyed the breakfast as well. We would definitely return the next time we are in Montreal.
We loved our stay at the Bonaparte and plan on staying again the next time we are in Montreal. Great location, beautiful and comfortable hotel. The staff was exceptional.
An excellent value--great location, small but ample rooms, outstanding breakfast included, right in the heart of the Old City. Already planning to return
Excellent stay. Restaurant exceptional especially the breakfast which is included.
The only thing I missed was a comfortable stuffed chair to sit in after walking all day.
We were immediately accommodated when we requested a larger room with a king size bed Both of the ladies at the front desk were helpful and extremely friendly. The ajoining restaurant is a wonderful place for dinner and drinks. The food is simply first rate. The new bar is convenient and also a great venue for snack or late dessert. Parking is up the street and easy to use.
Lovely boutique style hotel in the middle of Old Montreal. the attached restaurant is superb. Don't look for hotel chain niceties here. You carry your own bags and there is limited room service. But the included breakfast is wonderful and the location can't be beat. Not a hotel for children. Stayed there on a recent rainy and cold Montreal trip and it was always a pleasure to return to our cozy... more
Front desk employees very friendly and helpful. Best breakfast omelet I've had, wonderful full delicious breakfast was included with room rate, even fresh O.J. Could not ask for a better location. Nice quiet side street and within easy walkng distance of the many Old Montreaul attractions.
The staff at Hotel Bonaparte were very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is very comfortable and the breakfast is exceptional. You could not better the location in the heart of the old city.
Rainy weekend in April, but had a wonderful time. So enjoyed our stay, the accommodations were clean and very nice. The old and new parts of Montreal were so beautiful. The walking tour and walking independently were definitely the way to see the city. Had a superb view of the courtyard. The food was magnificent! The full breakfast was a WOW! Will definitely plan on making a return trip!
Michael at the hotel really takes great care of the customers. Well done!
We booked this hotel online as the last part of our 3 city tour of Ontario/Quebec. It wasn't cheap but the location was excellent for the Old Town, next door but one from Centaur Theatre, and a few minutes walk to Notre Dame Cathedral and also Rue St Paul which runs through the centre of the Old Town and is packed with restaurants and shops. Also close are museums like Pointe a Calliere and the... more
Lovely hotel, great room, great location certainly one of the best small hotels I have stayed in!
The gal behind the front desk was wonderful. She helped us with parking and directions to our night activity. We ate in the restaurant and the service was great. I was seated at a table awaiting my husband when a waiter appeared and asked if I would like the window table. The stay included a breakfast, that was truly a full breakfast, unlike many other hotels. Anne
Excellent accomadations and staff at the Hotel Bonaparte. You must eat at the attached restaurant, Bonaparte. It is one of the best in Montreal
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful two-night stay at Auberge Bonaparte! The staff were so professional and friendly, it was a very cute hotel and the breakfasts were amazing. The bed was a little too hard for my own liking - I would suggest bringing your own pillow, but my boyfriend enjoyed every bit of it. Overall I would suggest this hotel to any individual, couple or family! The location is... more
Loved this hotel. In old Montreal, which is very quaint. Hotel is nicely kept, nice wood floors, big bathroom. Only complaint is that I didn't love the comforter on the bed or the curtain print. Great price for great location. Very good deal.
Stayed at the Hotel Bonaparte for 1 night of a 2 night stay and we should have stayed there for both nights. Beautiful setting in Old Montreal, decorated well and service is great!
We were in Montreal for my daughters departure on Semester at Sea and stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The staff was wonderful and very helpful with everything. There were only two problems we had. One was that the room was on the side of the hotel near the street and it was noisy in the middle of the night. A lot of auto noise and people talking loudly. The second was that the room was a... more
First trip to Montreal, it was a business trip the hotel was great. If your looking for the kitchenette and sofa type room this isn't it. If your looking for old romantic Montreal with great service and food then here you go. Breakfests are free and excellent, so was dinner. The people were great, I speak no french and they helped me with everything from calling a cab to great places to see.... more
Extremely satisfied with all services - will stay again if in Montreal. A very good restaurant and breakfast arrangement.
Fabulous location, wonderful helpful friendly service. Will definitely stay again.
Why stay at any other place if you have a conference to attend? I had friends who stayed at hotels that were really no closer and were not as nice, more expensive, and did not include breakfast. The breakfast was great, and the restaurant appears to be well known for its great food (and fairly high prices). Being just a couple of blocks from the main drag of old town and the waterfront was a... more
This hotel is centrally located with a great breakfast option. When my daughter and I arrived to check in on the early side, they found a room for us and even gave us a free upgrade, which included free breakfast. Breakfast was yummy! The front desk helped with all kinds of small touristy questions we had. We will definitely go back there.
Great location right in Old Montreal, close to both the Cathedral Notre Dame and the waterfront. The restaurant is excellent, some of the best food I had during my stay. Also, reception is exceedingly efficient. I highly recommend Auberge Bonaparte.
First class all the way!! the hotel is impeccably clean, the rooms spacious and well-appointed, and the restaurant is one of the best we've ever eaten in. We LOVE coming here and treat ourselves to this fine experience at least once a year (or more).
This is the first hotel that I could find nothing to complain about everthing was perfect
The Hotel Bonaparte is in the center of old Montreal and within walking distance of many of the sights you will want to visit. Our room was large, with two French windows, a bistro table and chair set (perfect for snacks and wine), and a four-poster bed. The breakfast was substantial and tasty. A bit expensive, but, for the most part, worth it.
Very friendly, well-located, clean & comfortable, super breakfast included; couldn't ask for more.
Excellent service. Wonderful front desk staff. Helped us with directions and recommmended outstanding restaurants after asking us questions about the type of food, etc we were interested in for our meal. We left something in the room when we checked out and they contacted us by phone and agreed to mail it to us.
Great location in the middle of old Montreal. Very charming! Favorite memory: My husband and I came back after dinner nearby and asked where we could get an after dinner drink in the hotel. Our host took us into the restaurant where we each selected something to sip on. He poured them into snifters and set each on a doily on a plate. He then lead us to the rooftop garden via the elevator,... more
This reasonably priced hotel in Montreal's old city was a delight. The staff was friendly and helpful recommending restaurants and sites to visit. A fine restaurant is attached to the hotel and hotel guests receive a very good complimentary breakfast there each morning. All-in-all, a very good experience. We would not hesitate in recommending this hotel and we hope to stay there in the future.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Auberge Bonaparte. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room comfortable and charming, and the location was great! The food at the restaurant was delish, too!
We had a short but lovely stay at the Bonaparte. The staff were very friendly helpful. It was well-located, walking distance from everything, had unique rooms with hard-wood floors and exposed brick walls. I definitely would stay there again.
The Hotel and staff were very supportive-Room was terrific and the food in the restaurant was superb-Breakfast the next day was excellent and a lovely addition to our stay..
Beautifully restored room. Excellent location in Old Quebec. The included breakfast in their restaurant was delicious and presented in a very elegant, European way.
In Old Montreal near the port and Notre Dame Basilica. Staff was VERY helpful advising us on public transit, selling us the tickets right then, marking maps, etc. Lovely hotel and a great hot breakfast.
Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The women at the desk could not have been more helpful. The waitresses were very sweet and the lovely breakfast settings (white table cloths)and delicious breakfasts made our stay that much better. Rooms are spotlessly- ours faced the street and was very bright and cheerful. This hotel is close to shops and restaurants and there is even an English speaking... more
Both my husband and I were very impressed with this lovely hotel. The breakfast room was amazing, like a french cafe! The rooms were very big, light and airy. Location is great, right in the middle of the old town which is stunning. Don't hesitate in booking this hotel!
