After initially having some difficulty finding Athene’s courtesy of my lackadaisical reliance on Google Maps, we found our way to the front entrance on a late weekday evening. Well Prepared Greek in a Family Setting
April 14, 2013What I like about this place is that besides the usual Greek fare, there were quite a few authentic dishes. The chicken livers were outstanding as an appetizer and mousaka and other Greek dishes were on par with some more expensive places. I would not hesitate to return.

Top spot as our `treat`restaurant for birthdays, etc

The beef, lamb and chicken souvlakia are all very good, although my personal favourite is the beef. The pizzas, calamari and baked spaghetti are good too. What sets Athene`s apart for me is their hummus and the roast potatoes.
Service is top notch. Athene`s has been a family favourite for many years and still holds top spot as our ``treat``...

Greek for the people

Great honest food, large portions and tremendous service
September 10, 2011Had the lamb special shoulder; I am not normally a huge fan of lamb but I asked for a taster and it was very good. The "real meal" did not disappoint.
