Great value and great location.
Everything is close by and at walking distance.
Good service and bar down stairs isn't too bad.
Room was comfy and clean - though the step up into the bathroom nearly killed me a few times :)

Old World - but excellent

The hotel is very conveniently situated in the heart of Jasper. It has a great Old World charm. The staff were most helpful. The only downside is it located over a pub, which is on the premises. Once the pub closes the patrons are very noisy for quite some time into the wee hours of the morning. This didn't help... more

Excellent value

Probably the best value in town.
Since I was traveling by train and planning on video filming the train action around Jasper yard/station, it was the perfect location. Within walking distance of the action, but without the noise from the idling diesel engines.
Restaurants and shops close by i.e. everything within walking distance. AND .... the price was right, too!

Stayed here on my first and second visit to Jasper. Great location bang in the centre of it all! Rooms are nice - have everything you need. Good service, near the pubs and restaurants all walking distance. Would definitely be my first choice going back. Great value for money too :)

Central in town

Room was very tiny with not even a chair and/or table.

Soft bed like sleeping in cloud. Posh decoration. Right at the center.

Limited bathrooms and toilets.

Very helpful staff indeed.

No drawers or space in the room to store clothes or anything else. OK for one night (which was us), but hopeless for a longer stay.

Very clean and well maintained. Location was fantastic and free parking.

No lifts to carry bags upstairs. No breakfast in the room rate.

Good bar downstairs (friendly staff and decent food). Clean and comfy overall and really handy for the train station.

Rooms are very small, shared bathroom facilities clean and good once you figure out the plumbng, but only one per floor. No lift.

It was handy to shops and restaurants as well as the train . It is clean and comfortable. As there is no jug provided they let us have one for our morning cup of tea.

I hate the size of bath towels in most places now . Why do they have such stupid small towels for people paying good $ for accommodation ? No tea/coffee etc in room/

I would not go again! The staff they employ is unprofessional and rude! Very noisy downstairs with "questionable" individuals outside trying to sell me things that i dont need! I think that says it all!

Athabasca Hotel Restaraunt

We arrived for breakfast and watched the hand made spaghetti coming out of the machine by the bar in front. Fun. Good food, served hat and immediately. Friendly staff.

Great choice if you're just looking for a place to sleep

If you're looking for basic accommodation at an affordable price in jasper, the athabasca will do fine. The rooms are cozy and the bathroom is down the hall if you pick the cheapest option. Nevertheless it's clean, friendly, and a good choice if you're not planning to spend much time at the hotel anyway.

This was an ok stay. The room was about $165 plus taxes. It was clean and good views of the mountains. The staff were helpful and friendly. This place is right on the main part of the city center with convienent parking around the back. Beds are very comfortable and the room is very clean with a nice bathroom. Price is a little higher than I usually pay at $150 but then everything is higher in Canada.

Stayed in a room with a shared bathroom. It was very clean and comfortable and a brilliant location in the town. Great value considering it didn't cost much more than a hostel for 2 people. Staff were very helpful and the free access to the town's aquatic centre was a great deal.

From the moment we walked in our room I felt I was stepping back in time. It reminded me of the luxurious rooms in titanic. The best part is it's cheaper than any of the main stream hotels n it looks amazing, the decor gives the place a little something extra!
