We came here two evenings in a row,as we had so much fun the first night.
Both times we sat on the outside patio...there was a steady stream of patrons,including 3 Bachelorette parties.Always a good sign to see a place so busy!

Good Pub Food

The service was good. The lamb burger was very good. The chicken club was good. The Argyle offers outdoor dining in Downtown Halifax.

Great food and service

Ate there in March and again in June. Had a variety of food including their pizza, scallops and haddock. All were very good!
It has a really good beer selection on tap and good wines too. The service was impeccable and the summer patio has an awning to keep the rain or sun rays at bay.

Dirty

When was the last time this place was cleaned or maintained? Like seriously guys a coat of paint would really go a long way here, not to mention the bathrooms are borderline unusable. Great spot for cheap drinks if you want to be around young kids binge drinking and puking everywhere but for a decent experience go elsewhere.

Delicious

I ate dinner here for a friend's birthday. We were greeted right way and seated. Our waitress was helpful. I ordered the "everything burger" and it was absolutely MASSIVE. Would highly recommend it, one of the best burgers I've ever had. No complaints about this restaurant.

Food, atmosphere and location - everything was good

The Argyle Grill served good food, plenty of it with great service and sitting outdoors on a sunny day made it a perfect spot for lunch. The menu was pretty average but solid. It was really busy but everyone around us seemed to enjoy their lunch as much as we did.

Love the Argyle

My partner and I go there all the time. The service is terrific. Food is fine, good value, and we really like the fact that there are vegetarian options -- we ususally start by sharing the mediterranean platter.

Good family experience

First time to and first day in Halifax. Family was happy and walked in. Immediately greeted with a smile.

Great Brunch

Almost every weekend I visit the city I finish it with a eggs benny brunch at The Argyle! Also the stuffed frencg toast is to die for!

Excellent pizza every time

My husband and I went here before heding to Neptune. I was craving their lettuce wraps and spanakopita pizza! It's consistent every time...you get what you're expecting! Love all the feta and spinach and dill, the wood oven makes it so delicious! Great place to meet up with friends, the atmosphere is always friendly and the service is good.

I really appreciate the seafood at Argyle. This restaurant is a great semicasual dining experience and is perfect for a pre-theatre meal since it is located just steps away from Neptune Theatre.

Too much $ for what u get and cheap on quality

The food wasn't bad but my $18 lobster ravioli should not have been mushy canned lobster for that price. My husband and son ordered $3.75 chocolate milk and it was white milk with chocolate syrup for flavor (it all rested on the bottom of the glass). You know when you don't know what you want or where you want to go... this is a great choice..... varied menu, good quality food, good service all at a reasonable cost.

Went here for dinner on a shopping trip with my mom and a friend. The salmon was delicious! The service was very good and the downtown location was great. Recommended to us by our hotel concierge.

Good Lunch

Ate at the Argyle for lunch today. I had the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with fries. It was very good. Ordered a bottle of Coors Light with meal but was not impressed that it was not cold certified ( I would have ordered draft if I have known this). Service was overall good.

Birthday supper

We went with 15 other people to celibrate my wife's birthday. The wood-fired pizza was amazing. The service was wonderful. (even allowed us to bring our own cake)

good lunch in halifax

friendly staff, good food in an area of downtown restaurants. we found this spot after making an extra effort to avoid the ultra toursty places around the waterfront. we were warmly welcomed and well fed.

Great food and drinks

We generally eat at the Argyle before attending plays at Neptune Theatre as the restaurant is next door to the Theatre. Good food and a neat drink menu, we always try something new from the drink list. Love the lobster ravioli!

Ok, but nothing special

We were looking for a nice dinner with our kids and had dinner at the Argyle Bar & Grill. The food was ok, the steak good, the ribs just ok. It was no special experience and we suppose there are better restaurants in Halifax.

It's got very good food, and specializes in pizza. Their pizza is thin crusted and baked in a wood fired oven. They also have lots of pasta, soups, salads, sandwiches. On the main level is a restaurant and small bar area. There's also an outside patio in summer.

The Argyle has some good lunch specials. My favourite is the half pizza half salad plate. Their pizza's are pretty good and priced reasonably.

Things to avoid at this place: the seafood chowder (too salty and watery) and the patio. You can't get there any of the good beers, and not even the pizza. Why? Beats me.

Halifax has one of the best Maritime bar scene. The night life in this city is simply amazing. With the university campus so close to the downtown area, there is always something happening and tons of things to do. This is definitely one of the most happening place in town. Nice atmosphere and great drinks. The company you get is simply awesome, Halifax girls rocks.

The argyle offers great drinks and excellent food. The food is presented in an attractive fashion. This restaruant offers vegetarian alternatives which are delicious and my personal favorite. The argyle is the a great place for lunch or even a mid priced date. At night the argyle offers DJ and dance in the basement.
