For 18 years we have been eating in your restaurant. The food and service has been consistantly good. I just don't understand why you need to play that blareing radio. It is not condusive to pleasant dining.
-The restaurant wasn't full and the service was slow.
- Chicken wasn't well cooked.
- The rest of the food was so so. for freshness and taste
-bathrooms are dirty, inside doors were sticky.
Attention from the waitress was rude.
The food was good. I had the pita with gyro. I have to say, it's expensive, but I brought home leftovers! The staff was very kind and helpful. I loved the decor because it's cozy and very greek town styled! It was a pleasure eating there.
Agree with DECMTL, this place has gone downhill. Unclean, poor service and mediocre food at best. Friends of mine have eaten here and come down with food poisoning!
This is the original location. It is now a local chain and I've tried some of the other places and there's not much to recommend here, anymore.
Montreal has MUCH better souvlaki...

A good family-type medium priced Greek restaurant with exactly the same menu as every Greek restaurant in the world except Greece. Prices are moderate , food is tasty and portions are huge. Almost very one leaves with a doggy bag.
I've been coming to this place fir years. Unfortunately, each time it seems to drop in quality, now to a point where I won't be going back. 1st the portion size of the tazki is way to small for the price. The chicken pita plate, the the pita was cold & super salty like it was old & had been... plus
On a cold december day, my friends and I went there to get warm as fast as possible and eat lunch. The sandwich I had was overfilled with sauce and quite disappointing.
Worst restaurant experience ever. Acadie location. We went today and all three of us have very upset stomach. Dishes and glasses were dirty. Tables are oily and smell terrible. They put some sort of smelly chemical when they clean the floor. Anyways avoid this place.
Had the lamb souvlaki pita with an Greek Horatiki slad on the side. The souvlaki was delectable, with a wonderful tzatziki in a perfect pita. Restaurant has a comfy, sort of hokey Greek resto vibe. Service was friendly and attentive. Plus it is right across the street from a delightful bagel shop.
A fun visit to see and interesting old neighbourhood in Montreal. Home to Portuguese, Greek, French Canadians ,Arab, Orthodox Jews and others. Enjoy a souvlaki, garlicky tzatziki, donors, fries, galactobourikos, etc.
Visit the Bagel Bakery across the street.Eat a delicious hot bagel. Drive up and down the old streets with flats that have the outside 2nd floor stairs.
Then drive...

I love to come here for the calamari. And the souvlaki is great. Good value and super large portions. Fresh ingredients and good flavours. The tazatziki rocks too
After a day of Jetboating we decided that it had been awhile since we had Greek food.
We sent to Arahova on St Viateur.
Known for their Tzatiki, dolmades, taramasalta, octopus, souvlaki....
The bread was hot and warm their taramasalta ( caviar spread) as always devine... its so good its now being sold grocery stores.
I am an expert on...

As always excellent souvlaki and salad and best tzatziki ever.
Great relaxed friendly ambience !!
Forever a customer!
Friendly service!
I am not a fan of Greek food at the best of times, but my friend had a colleague that swore this was the best in Montreal and he wanted to try it so we went. I am soooooo glad that we did, We started off with an order of the fried calamari that was nothing but heavenly...I didn't want... plus
I recently enjoyed a late evening souvlaki ..it was as great I remembered from my last trip many years ago. Low key, relaxed..excellent food and very consistent.
If you are in Mile End and you are tired of vegan boutiques etc, go to this real meat-and-lemon potatoes traditional Greek restaurant...it is spacious and obviously a favourite of jes-plain-folks. I would eat there once a week if I lived there, they have take out too....and draft beer...Hopa!
Many choices on the menu, portions were generous and the taste was good. The service wasn't that great, and some improvements can be made towards the overall atmosphere.
my husband & I have been eating here since the 80's and i have never had such a horrible dinner! we come all the way from St.Bruno to enjoy the delicious food but our experience was hampered by dry food & bad service. It took the waitress 20 minutes to take our order and another 45 before it arrived at the... plus
A great fast food place to enjoy a variety of Greek food. I would recommend the gyro or chicken pita all dressed with their famous tzatziki onions and tomato. Enjoy their delicious appetizers and fresh salads. They have a few new items catered to the Quebecois cuisine. POUTINE is now served in this establishment. You can have it with the... plus
First of all, service was awful. They left the wooden skewer in my meat pieces and I almost choked on it... imagine had I swallowed it. As I mentioned this to the waitress, she went to tell the kitchen staff.... when she came back, she said that they work so quickly in the back, it can happen. Can I offer... plus
We'd just arrived in Montreal and while wandering, we came upon this restaurant offering Greek food which is often a good choice for those who don't do gluten. I hadn't done my TA homework so was 'walking on the wild side' when we decided to try lunch here. What a delightful surprise! We had salmon and pork (individual orders) with... plus
love this place for their big and tasty plates.

i use to go to the one in crescent street in Montreal and the other one in Laval.

the service is very good and the prices are average if you go at lunch always specials...

I waited to review this place since I wanted to go after a fresh visit.
It's been 12 hours and my stomach is still very happy.
This is the original Arahova Location, I have been to 6 or 7 locations and they disappointed me.
I almost always get the Arahova Steak, a gigantic Filet Mignon with mushrooms in a wine...

This review is based on my experience as a Montrealer, not as a visitor to Montreal: Arahova Souvlaki is a Montreal institution. But the tzatziki is a whole other story. There is not a souvlaki place between Montreal and Vancouver that I've tried that has better, more garlicky tzatziki.
Ketchup was absolutely discusting ! I went there with a colleague, put some ketchup on my fries, and could not eat that c@!p. When a restaurant refill his Heinz bottle with "no brand name" ketchup, it gives you an idea of how valuable for them their clients are.
Never again are they gonna see my face !
Great place for a quick bite when you don't fancy cooking yourself. Food is definitely simple but you get what you see with this place. The service is quick, sometimes to the point that you don't have time to go wash your hands before eating!
I've been to various Arahova restaurants on different occasions. Arahova on St-Viateur always proved the best of the different locations (vs. Marche Central, West Island); however recent visits were somewhat disappointing. The food (souvlakis, moussaka) haven't been as good as in the past. The lentil soup is still tasty, but the fries have been second-rate (limp, oily). I prefer e.g.... plus
Ambiance familiale, portions généreuses, service courtois.
While it claims to be authentic Greek, Arahova is nothing but a North Americanized Greek restaurant that has nothing to do with real authentic Greek food. Their foods are overpriced and I have yet to find, on the few occasions that I had to eat there to be part of the larger picture, a meal that's above par considering the... plus
Growing up in Montreal, eating svoulaki at ARAHOVA'S was an affordable night out for us students!
Having tasted svoulaki in Greece I later realized how authentic ARAHOVA'S recipe was.
My favorite breakfast in Montreal, was 2 bagels from ST. VIATEUR BAGELS, across the street to ARAHOVA'S, a tsasiki to take out----------dip your hot bagel in the tsasiki!
A unique $3.00...

This restaurant was incredibly quiet on a Saturday afternoon. You definitely want a window seat to watch the world go by. If you can’t make up your mind, the menu is lavishly illustrated to guide you. Service is fast and friendly.
The pita is heavy on the tzatziki, so much so that a good portion of it ended up on my nose instead of my mouth. You will also get fresh-cut onion and tomato in the...

Ambiance agréable, aliments frais et assiettes bien remplies. Que demander de plus... Sur l'heure du midi, les "trios" permettent de s'en sortir pour moins de 10$.
Good but not great souvlaki - tsatziki is good but I have had better taramosolata.
Still a classic...late night pita's with tzatziki, yum!
Great souvlaki, fresh fries, good tzaziki, greek feta - everything made perfect. Only complaint is the tomatoes. Sometimes they are good quality and sometimes they are just too pink and not juicy enough for the horitiki salada. The location is trendy and so close to the mountain. Go across the street for fresh bagels afterwards!
Arahova Souvlaki is a Greek restaurant where most Menuism users came for a family meal and paid less than $10.
