Standard 50's themed diner. Service is usually fast and attentive, although there are a few girls there who seem to drag things down. A popular hotspot for breakfasts on weekends, expect a line-up out the door (but don't be dismayed...it moves fast and you'll still be seated within about 10 minutes). Fair prices and decent food. Nothing extraordinary.
Have eaten here on a few occasions when visiting family in Guelph. It is inexpensive, tasty and they have lots of options on the menu. I find the coffee a bit strong, and the service has been hit or miss. If you visit at a busy time, expect to wait a while for service. I wouldn't say it was the best breakfast I've ever had, but I don't have any complaints. Overall, the price, atmosphere,... more
I love the retro feel! This diner has been around for ages. Most times it's great. On the rare event that it's less wonderful. They are Fantastic about addressing the problem. A consistent favorite for my crew. The homemade chicken tenders and rice pudding are both amazing.
Growing up I used to go here for their breakfast special and this consisted of two eggs sunny side up, breakfast sausages, bacon and toast. It was a great deal and the quality of food is pretty decent for Guelph. It also has that small town diner feel to it too. Will need to check this place out when I'm back in town.
This is a good place if you want a bite to eat in the morning and want to get in and out quickly. The French Toast and the Eggs Benedict is what you expect for a place like this. Good place to go if you want the basics for breakfast.
Staple diner food, decent service, kitschy atmosphere, but aside from that, go hungry! I've only been to the location on Highland in Kitchener.
This is a fun, good value and friendly place to take friends and family to for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I recently went there for the first time for dinner to take advantage of their "kids 12 and under eat for free Monday to Thursday deal". This deal applies if the adult orders a main entree valued at least $12.... more
Took our granddaughter out for lunch. It was our first time at Angels, and must we say had a good meal and excellent service at a very reasonable price.
Would certainly like to try their breakfast.
What a mess.
Four of us decided to go for lunch at Angel's one afternoon, including my brother who swears this is the place to go after a drunken stupor. He made it sound like your run of the mill greasy spoon/family restaurant. I was salivating as we walked in the door. After ordering some very mediocre chocolate milk (at...

Always able to count on consistent food and cheerful service
I can count on it so know what to expect
Great diner, Retro feel, excellent service, clean, and decently priced. Exactly what you expect it to be. Breakfast special is the best in town.
Keep it up!
Always good breakfasts, but very busy and noisy. Breakfast selection is huge and I love their back bacon and home fries. They also have great ribs for dinner. Very affordable and economical dining.
Simply put, if you’re in the mood for a home cooked meal with great 50’s ambience, then Angels is the place for you. Located in downtown Guelph, Angels serves up simple yet tasty meals at great prices. Their breakfast is the best in town and I recommend the hot turkey sandwich for lunch. Angels is for families and for large... more
This place used to be am iconic landmark in Guelph. Now it is starting to get rundown and threadbare. The food has slipped over the years and the service has grown mediocre. I keep my fingers crossed that they can turn things around and get back to their past performance. It still remains charming but just fell short of what... more
Service was friendly and prompt. The staff were all great. It's too bad the food is so terrible.
Food was gross, pancakes were thick and doughy, sausages way too salty, toast was not even toasted properly, home fries were disgustingly soggy. I didn't really have great expectations walking in, but I thought that the quality of the food would be...

Angels is always packed for breakfast.
Consistently good food and friendly waitress staff.
Reasonable price and a great spot to meet friends.
I've heard their spare ribs are very good and I can't wait to try them out.
This restaurant is a regular breakfast stop when I am visiting relatives & friends in Guelph, which is usually twice a year. I've never come by an unfriendly staff member & have never had a bad breakfast. As long as I am able, I\ll continue to go here.
Angel's Diner is exactly what you expect it to be. All the breakfast items look great and prices are fair. I was disappointed with my scrambled eggs which tasted like dish soap (someone needs to rinse dishes better). The coffee was also hit or miss; first cup was really watered down and second was pretty good. The pancakes and sausages were fantastic though.
All the wait staffed seemed to be...

I've had breakfast here several times. The food is always good, and the service excellent. Maybe a little noisy due to the popularity of the diner, but not too unreasonable. During the week, they have a great $4.95 breakfast special. I haven't tried it for other than breakfast, but suspect it would be just as good. The clientele varied from... more
My daughter started school at the U of Guelph last September. Since then, almost every trip to Guelph has included a stop at Angel's Diner. Our most recent visit was August 25, 2013
The food is basic but there is a wide variety and almost everything is well done. They serve breakfast all day and the one's I've tried have...

We went in for brunch Sunday at around noon. We asked to sit in a booth which looked to not be an issue as there were many available. Our greeter brought us to our booth, dropped our menu's on the table and walked away with out saying a word. Our waitress was courteous but failed to once ask how our... more
..for good reason. We've been here quite a number of times over the past years. The food is excellent (IMO the ribs are the best in town), the service a still good but has slowed just slightly over the years, maybe because they are so busy?
You get a good sized portion and the prices are quite reasonable when compared...

not my best dining experience in Guelph. they're good for breakfast but not much else. The fried pickles were good but too expensive for the amount that you get
Lots of food and great service, place was very clean and the music was just right ,not to loud. the food was cooked too perfection .
fast and friendly service - great food - great specials - great family resturant - great with the kids
I will start this review by saying I have loved Angel's for a very long time, they have a wide variety of delicious options and an all day breakfast as well as great lunch and dinner options. We frequent this spot in Guelph!
However, the last 3 times we have visited Angel's has really soured us. Our food took forever...

Nothing amazing here but ate here several times and enjoyed it every time. Good portions and great prices, my fall back place when I couldn't decide what I wanted. Extensive menu and very good compared to similar places.
I've been here a bunch of times. The service has always been great but as of late it seems the decor is need of some repair, the table we last sat at had ripped up vinyl upholstery, which only leads you to look at other areas that either need cleaning or service of some sort. The prices are great, it's... more
Mediocre diner type restaurant with 60s nostalgia on the wall, and big hunks of smoked meat in the display cases as you come in. They cater in a large part to the university breakfast crowd on the weekends, and do move people through there quickly and efficiently.
They say they specialize in smoked meat.. That said, I ordered the jumbo smoked meat sandwich. So did my friend I was having lunch...

A good diner with good breakfast specials at less than $5 that gets to your table in about the time it takes to go wash your hands. The potatoes have a nice crunch to them.
Decent if not outstanding diner breakfast. Good fast service.
had dinner there really like the old style booths and the layout. It was a nice change from the main stream places to eat.... food was affordable good menu selection waitress was nice and the vanilla milk shake was perfect. I say great spot to have dinner
We love the breakfast. Its often lined up but it moves fast. Large and efficient. Huge and delicious menu. Service is fast and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting a great breakfast. I hear its good for lunch and dinner too but we've not done that yet.
I went here on the 22nd with my baby daughter and friend. I have been here many times for breakfast as I love the food and menu.
During the week, the breakfast special is 2 eggs, toast, hash browns, either bacon or sausage for 3.99 which isfantastic when ur on maternity leave and just want to get out of the...

Probably one of the better spots for a decent breakfast in the downtown area. Price for what you get is pretty reasonable.
Really enjoyed breakfast here, staff excellent would recommend for breakfast any time
We ate at Angel's Diner on our last night in Guelph as I had spotted it while driving around downtown. The exterior is not very promising but the interior does a good job of creating a fun 50s feel and the service was excellent. A very wide choice of food is offered, but our group chose straightforward ribs and burgers... more
First of all, I am surprised with the popularity of this place that only 2 reviews have been written. Nonetheless, it is definitely a place to check out if you are looking for quick, greasy, and delicious diner food.
The food is pretty decent considering they serve tonnes of people in such a quick span, and it's definitely one of the breakfast/brunch places to check out in Guelph.

This diner has a 50s type feel to it with memorabilia on the walls. They handled our group reservation of over 20 people with ease and served us well.

Generous portions offering great value. Food is very good. Service is always friendly. This fifties-style diner could use a bit of a refresh, but is a great place to take kids.
Angel's omelette is now my new favourite. Plenty of room and fast and friendly service. Reasonable prices and nice decor.
We recently were in Guelph and decided to go back to Angels Diner. NEVER AGAIN. The place was so incredibly filthy it didn't look as if it had been cleaned since we were there several years ago. Can't imagine what the kitchen looks like since the dining area was a pig stall. The wait staff was rude-kept reaching in front... more
Angel's is a place that is pretty much always open. So on a holiday weekend when you want to go out for breakfast and most places are closed, Angel's is open for business. You pay $7.25 for your standard breakfast with a coffee. The eggs are usually cooked to your specification, the potatoes are deep fried and lack seasoning, and the bacon is crisp beyond recognition. I used to come here... more
We go there every time we're in Guelph and the food quality stays consistent and the portions stay large. Can't wait to go back in December! I'm drooling just thinking of the selections.
There isn't enough I can say about the food here. I found the place by accident, when I got lost coming back from the hospital, and for some reason, as soon as I stepped through the doors, I knew it was going to be good. The old-fashioned booths with the personal coat racks at each, fifties decorations, and the kind... more
our family eats here at least twice a month. breakfast is amazing and the portions are large. nice that they have a kids menu and a seniors menu. staff are always pleasant and efficient
do we eat this stuff?
Relaxing. Best for family time.
Visited fro lunch very busy but never the less the food and the service was good. I would visit again maybe a bit earlier
Very busy at lunch time, a bit of a wait but the quality of the food and the service well makes up for it! Nice spot!
Great 50/60's atmostphere. Excellent food. A little slow around mealtimes because it is a hotspot in Guelph.
