For a memorable lunch or dinner be sure to visit this restaurant. The food is local the chef imaginative and the staff has always been very attentive and knowledgeable.
The setting is unique and adds to the enjoyment of dining out!
Attended a family event for my sister's special birthday. Arranged by my niece who lives out of town, it was lovely. My other sister arrived early to orchestrate the surprise and the staff were amazing and helped us pull it off. A beautiful setting, lovely decor. Food was very good ( as expected, I have eaten here before). I liked... more
love the atmosphere. the staff is nice, very accomodating. Had a bridal shower for 50 guests that had a couple of cake glitches from an outside source but the co-ordinator managed to provide for 50 -on the spot - desserts and "fixed" the cake so it was not a disaster! Due to the stress involved I was provided with a... more
Take a moment to step back in time to experience the old Ancaster living with fine dinning all year round.
The variety and freshness of the Mill's breakfast buffet can not be compared.
As the morning moves on the variety of meats and seafood increases.
If you're looking for a place with class and ambiance, this is it. The staff
is courteous. The water falls makes this place a great setting. We love Sunday mornings at the Old Mill.
We have enjoyed many great dining experiences at this restaurant and have never had a bad meal. The service is excellent and we would highly recommend this restaurant.
We went with friends and all enjoyed the Sunday Supper option. The food was delicious, locally sourced and beautifully presented. The dishes are served family style and there was plenty of food all round. Ambiance is fabulous as we were seated within view of the waterfall. We will definitely be back!
Perfect for any occasion - dining out, wedding receptions, meeting facilities etc., the Mill is located next to and over a picturesque river with several falls - the original mill power source.
Lots of parking. Various rooms of different sizes.
Not "fast food" and not extremely inexpensive, but the atmosphere is worth a thousand words.
3 couples... We had an amazing meal and great wine! Service was impeccable. Just a little pricey.. But worth the splurge!
My review begins with a strong echo of those who remark upon the perfectly prepared, tasty food, impeccable personal service, and the most glorious ambiance sitting above the waterfall. The breads with hummus and apple butter were a nice treat for me. Sadly, my gluten free partner couldn't indulge. (Perhaps gluten free bread might be a consideration in the future?)... more
We really love going to the Ancaster Mill. We have been on 2 occasions so far, and will definitely return.
The food is truly exceptional: it is very well prepared, tastes very good, is well presented and is of outstanding quality.
We also really liked the atmosphere on both occasions. Sitting next to the waterfall, which was frozen had something...

My family had Sunday Brunch at the Mill on March 23rd. We have been 4 times before and enjoyed each time. This time was different. They have changed the setup and it seems as though the food has changed as well. It was just average this time. My daughter who loves crab had to spit hers into her napkin as... more
I have been going to The Ancaster Old Mill since I was a little girl. They used to have dogs at the front that I can remember, and I forget the breed. But it warms my heart thinking about it.

Went here for a birthday dinner and all I have to say was the food is super delish!.
Loved everything I tired and loved that we got complementary dishes from the kitchen. Such a nice place, staff was super nice. Just had a very good experience and I will definitely be coming back again :)
For a great Sunday brunch or a quiet dinner this restaurant will give you that. The food is What you would expect from a restaurant that is on a large scale. They handle receptions as easily as a dinner for two. We have enjoyed the brunch menu and dining in the evening. The table with a view of the mill... more
I have been to the Ancaster Mill on several occasions, for work and pleasure, and give it top marks for quality of food and service. The extra bonus is the ambiance and setting, especially if you can reserve a table by the waterfall ... quite nice!
Lovely setting with windows overlooking the stream. Fireplaces and great food. The Sunday brunch is awesome but dinner is an experience.
Ancaster has been trying to keep this gem a secret for years !! The ambiance, the well trained staff and the delectable creative culinary offerings are just perfect for celebrating special occasions in our lives.I suggest you request to be seated in the Fallsview Room, order a bottle of wine and watch the fabulous waterfall pouring over the rocks! I love the Sunday brunch. There is a wonderful variety of food much of it made to order. The service is excellent and of course the setting cannot be beat any time of year.
The selection of fine cuisine is impressive and so The Ancaster Mill is definitely a go-to when choosing a place to celebrate a special occasion. As a matter of fact, I held my wedding and wedding reception there in 1997 :) Their Sunday Brunch is also spectacular!!
Very nice atmosphere, nice scenery and the food was good. But all that goodness is lost once the bill arrives. For such small servings and large prices!!! I ended up stopping at Wendy's for a burger just so I felt like I had something to eat. Will never go again, the food wasn't that good for the money.
We have been to the Ancaster Mill twice before for dinner and have written a dinner review in the past. Recently we went for the Sunday Brunch, and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The service was outstanding, given that we had two people with allergies in our party…no gluten for one and no dairy for another. The staff was very helpful... more

I enjoyed the intimate experience. It was a very personal experience. The service was impeccable and not intrusive. The food was excellent, cooked to perfection and well presented.
Enjoyed the experience very much
This was a special b/d for us and the atmosphere, setting, and most definitely the food were beyond exceptional. The wine was excellent. We all order different; steak, chicken, veggie and each was really delicious. I actually could not think of anything to improve the evening. We sat in the falls room by the window and our Server was Elizabeth... more

I attended The Ancaster Mill for Sunday brunch in December. There's no doubt that it is one of the most picturesque dining experiences I have had. We enjoyed the valet parking service and were greeted by friendly staff. The price point, however, does not accurately represent the quality of the food. This is not to say that there were not... more
Best ever. Firstly, the restaurant is beautiful, fresh florals and beautiful settings. Everything you could ever want at brunch is there, hot dishes, wonderful salads, every kind of fruit, breads and rolls made on sight. Cold meats, shrimp and fish, omelets, waffles, all presented beautifully. Costly, but worth it.
My father treats the family - 37 this year to a New Years Day dinner at the Ancaster Mill. They do an excellent job of looking after us in a large private room with fireplace, a bar, & Hors d'ouvres.
We have been going there for several years & the only problem is that it is a fixed menu &...

Food, atmosphere, views and service combine to make the Mill perfect. We highly recommend visiting.
Visit often.
Good food in a very attractive setting. Valet parking (no charge except tip) was appreciated on a cold winter evening. Personable and efficient food serving and bar staff. A bit slow on food service and at reception. In total a good dining experience!
For a smaller more intimate wedding , this was by far the best venue overall I have ever attended. Food was was delicious , service was pleasant and attentive.Beautiful decor and natural surroundings with waterfall. Wonderful for pictures. Also a wonderful brunch on the weekends.
This date night felt more like a getaway than just a dinner out! The surroundings are so stunning - with waterfalls and footbridges and cobblestones - the ultimate romantic setting!
On the Saturday night we visited, the Mill was hosting 3 weddings. It was very busy, but the dining room still felt cozy and quiet.

We spent New Year's Eve at the Ancaster Mill again this year (been 4 years in a row). This year they had reintroduced the set menu so we chose that and it was wonderful. Beautiful scenery and dining areas. The whole establishment looks pristine. Service was knowledgeable and available when needed. Well staffed, both with quality and quantity. Now the cons, aka the food. To serve such food at this gorgeous restaurant is atrocious. I had the turkey choice for the meal. Turkey was moist yet bland, stuffing was garnished a bit too heavy... more
It started out with our server asking "would you like bread"? which is no longer included and we were pretty hungry when we arrived.
The thing that annoyed us the most was a young man drops off complimentary oysters at our table and starts to run off and I am saying we don't eat this.
So basically no free bread...

We selected The Ancaster Mill as the locale for a recent family gathering. The food, service and atmosphere are beyond perfection. Would definitely recommend this venue to friends and family without hesitation. Staff couldn't do enough for us, and our guests were extremely complimentary.
The Ancaster Mill Buffet is one of the best we've been to. The selection is huge, the quality of the food is excellent and the service is terrific. Best of all is the view of the waterfall from the large room. We go there for special occasions and have taken family quite a number of times.
Atmosphere is great. Food is fantastic. View is spectacular.
Good place for weddings, or an evening diner engagement.
The Sunday brunch is an adventure.
My husband surprised me for our anniversary dinner here. From the moment we entered the restaurant the service was excellent and attentive.
We were given a glass of champagne to celebrate our special day.
The warm arugula salad was very good. I had the tenderloin steak as the main and profiteroles for dessert. My husband enjoyed the chicken as his...

My sister and brother-in-law treated me to a birthday lunch here recently. It was my first visit and it was indeed a special and delightful experience. Gorgeous property with a stunningly decorated interior. Very relaxing environment with a chill vibe yet still fine dining.

Dinner at the Ancaster Mill has become our anniversary tradition. We have been going there 9 years and I seem to enjoy it more each time. My sister and I went here for dinner a few weeks ago and it was great. We each have been here many times and the meal that night reminded us why. Excellent food and service both which made the prices reasonable. Will definitely be back. The Sunday brunch is also highly recommended.
have been there twice now with family for sunday brunch. it is around $40 per person for the buffett, and I can't really figure out why. the food is average at best - most of the typical 'breakfast' items I could make better at home (eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.). the roast beef was very salty and the other 'lunch' items... more
A beautiful summer day, a pleasant drive up the escarpment, lovely gardens and sparkling water cascading over rugged rocks set the stage for our celebration. We chose to have a late lunch so mid week we were able to have a window seat overlooking the little river.
