Great restaurant. We went there because it was close to home, we were not disappointed. Friendly staff, awesome food, price is right :)
I was so let down here! I use to come here once a month for years and it was the best fresh made pasta place around. The hidden gem to avoid the line ups at Antons (also in Bby) I hadn't been here in a couple years and WOW was I disappointed !!!! Not sure but it seems like it must be new owners or cooks or something. Everything was just bad! From the funky smelling tortellini to the soggy... more
Super yummy food and great service! I come here A LOT Check out the garlic prawns and pesto pasta.. So yummy
Came here for dinner a couple nights ago because I was in the area. It seems like a mom and pop place and is bigger and homier looking than the outside.
I ordered the large "tetrazzine" on penne. It comes with garlic, chicken, onions, spinach and mushrooms in a light cream sauce. The dishes are typically $12.50 for a small and $17 for a large.
The first thing I noticed when it came was the...

I've been to this restaurant and this time I did takeout. Usually the food is quite tasty and this time was no exception. I ordered the large lasagna, pasta dish (forgot the name) and also the large calamari dinner. The lasagna was excellent, flavourful, delectable, and the portions were quite big. The pasta dish was good and from the picture it is large. The large calamari dinner was expensive... more
This. Was. Bizarre. My girlfriend was "allowed" to pick the restaurant on our last day in Vancouver and appropriately searched for the closest one to our hotel. She found two, but which cuisine, Italian or Greek. Which restaurant, Amorosa or Santali? Turns out, it didn't matter--they're the same restaurant. And I don't mean they're spiritually the same because of shared owners or have matching... more
The food is good, the service is friendly but the place gets hot in the summer, there were some mistakes on the bill, and we had to wait a very long time to pay. They were good about refilling drinks. The garlic cheese bread is great but you only get 2 slices but that's made clear on the menu. The greek food was great and only slightly more than you'd expect to pay. Overall I'd say this is a... more
Terrible! We came on a Tuesday night and had to wait for over 20 minutes to get some service and another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. When my pasta came out it taste like slop, literally like something out of a Chef Boyardee can. They had the decency to give me 10% off as they claimed the head chef has an emergency to attend to. Thats the only reason I gave them an extra star.
Don't be fooled by the split menu, they really do serve both Italian and Greek food. (It's hard for me to love Greek food other than Stephos... I mean, $9 for a calamari dinner!!)
Came here to celebrate a birthday and they were able to accommodate our reservation of 12 on a Friday night. The server was attentive and polite. But what caught my attention was that to add a skewer of...

So I came here yesterday evening and this restaurant had some memories with my boyfriend 11 years ago when he started working here as a teen. Might as well go in with him and try it out.
The decor when you walk in is decently clean cut. Lots of mahogany. Tables are nice and the wine set up is good. Feels like a 4 star place.
We ordered and menu was okay. Very vaguely described dishes so you...

I've been coming here (or getting take out) for many years. The food quality has declined over the years though it is still good. The portions are large (though they've also been getting smaller over the years). Food quality seems to be a hit or miss. Sometimes it's very good, sometimes it's not. I used to love this place but the consistency of food quality has me coming less often than before.
This place is less than great!
I went with a group last month and would never go again!
The pasta, my friends said, was okay but not crazy good.
I am gluten free and phoned in advance to find out if they have anything gluten free (most restaurants do). They told me to BRING MY OWN PASTA and they would cook it and add their sauce!!!! IMAGINE THAT!. I can TAKE MY FOOD, and then PAY FULL price...

Right off my mea culpa...I am biased. I have eaten at this place for years...maybe..uhmmm 20? I know the owner and chef, John. But...lots of people eat here and I don't know of anyone that has had a poor meal. I am sure that they exist, I just don't know them.
Amarosa used to be a hole-in-the-wall pasta joint. The...

The guy I am dating and I came here for a nice dinner just the two of us. Sadly there was very little, almost nothing that I could eat that fit into my dietary restrictions (he accidentally forgot to inquire), however, did manage to get some soup and salad. It didn't fill me up and I was left hungry but it was better than being sick. They took out the pasta out of the soup for me and ensured... more
William P who apparently thought the portion was too small mentioned that his girlfriend got more than he did so he complained even though portion sizes have always been huge. A feeble attempt to score a free meal, so do us a favour and stay away. Customers like you no restaurant needs.
Used to come here all the time, no one should bother now. Portion sizes are down, service is worse then ever. Food is still good though, so if you want a snack, this might be the place for you.
If you don't like something, keep it to yourself, the staff will either not care or come out and lecture you.
I'm done with Amorosa's. More then ten years tradition down the drain.
A few weeks back my partner and I decided to go out for dinner to celebrate a recent achievement. It was the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend (bad timing, I know!) and this was one of only a few places that had a reservation available.
When we first walked in the door, we were glad we had a reservation as the place was hopping! My first impressions were of a casual restaurant, I don't think I...

Very good European stile restoration. Had lunch and dinner here several times with my wife. My company usually having stuff lunch there... It's a nice place and the service was good. Plethora of choices for every taste!!!
Clean with reasonable service. Food was okay but not special. I got the baked penne which was slopped on a plate with melted cheese on the top. Tasted okay. Hubby got baked spaghetti. Overall no big complaints but would not go back again either. Hard to recommend
Having dine here for over 10 years, I have to say its my favourite place to eat in burnaby. Delicious pasta and big portions (think Anton's). You can ask them to pack the leftover home.
We live close by and decided to give it a try. It is a greek/italian restaurant (yes, 2 in 1), it has two different ambiances, we chose the italian side but I ordered greek food, my wife ordered an italian soup. The food was good and the service was great. Prices are reasonable and the ambiance is nice for family,... more
At first I thought the Italian pasta house meets Greek specials menu thing a little strange...but after a few visits it now makes perfect sense to me!
Feel like souvlaki? Go to Amorosa's! Feel like lasagna? Go to Amorosa's! How about something lighter like steamed mussels? Amorosa's has that too!
It's made choosing a place for dinner in the neighborhood all that much easier. Most items on the...

If you want the best lasagna - Amorosa is the place. We have traveled throughout Europe and North America and always come back to Amorosa for the best Lasagna anywhere. Baked to perfection, lots of cheese, spicy meat sauce, and perfect lasanga pasta. The menu has pasta favorite but also has 'make your own' past dinner which is great for... more
A real treat for our family is to dine here at least once a month. Let's just say, we love this place. Start with the garlic bread....just awesome. I like the moussaka and my boys like the calamari. The pasta is amazing! Sometimes the service can be a little slow because they are so busy. I'm ok with that because they always make up for it by refilling your drinks at just the right time. The... more
We have been eating here since we moved to the area in 1991. The restaurant has morphed some when the owner took over the Greek spot next door. They now have a combined the two menus and kept the best from both. My favorite is the Kleftiko. My adult children often have the appetizer platter for their dinner, and my... more
We eat here regularly and it's rarely a disappointment. The pasta is great - meat lovers will love the lasagna and hot chicken caesar salad (it's meal size), but I am more of a fan of the mix and match pasta and sauce. I always add veggies to mine!
Price is good for the large amount of pasta you get, although they charge $1.00 extra for whole wheat pasta and gnocchi. It's joined with Santali...

This place is so good! Glen s. is right! It is Anton's without the line and hype!
The 28 sauce choice is great, so many to choose from I needs to go back and try the other ones! Choice of small or large, but small will comfortably feed 2! You can choose which ever pasta noodle you'd like...

this is a great hidden gem that many people do not know about. We have been going there for years. It kicks Anton's butt, large portions with very tasty food. One large portion can feed two people unless you are very hungry.
A Must have: The Grilled Chicken Ceaser Salad- SLAMIN!!
Large portions and good enough pasta. Worth going if you are nearby.
I frequently dine at Amorosa because the food is awesome! I have never had a disappointing meal yet and have been eating here for many years! They have a wonderful selection of Italian pasta dishes or you can have Greek food as well. The price is right and worth every penny!
I've come here a few times in the past and was here for lunch recently.
Food 2/5: Disappointing. I've stopped ordering the pasta now. It's from the box, overcooked, and hardly remarkable. I decided to order the meatball sandwich ($9) this time. It must have been just one or two sliced meatballs between a very soft foccacia bread. It was impossible to pick up (too soft). It was served with a...

I really enjoyed this place. Apparently it (somewhat recently) combined with the Greek restaurant next door. They knocked down a wall and now feature both menus???
I can't speak to the Greek food, but the Italian pasta was fantastic. I had the large puttanesca, hoping I'd be able to take some home for tomorrow's lunch. I wasn't disappointed! And the taste was great. I was in a group of four...

We live in the area and have frequented Amorosa on a regular basis over many years but will not be returning. The service was fair but all 6 of our meals had no flavor what so ever. Logical version:
Great service, very traditional like.
Monkey's Lunch is a pretty good drink, but tell them not to put ice in it.
#18 pasta is pretty good, very creamy. The texture is quite smooth, however, the creamy feel in your mouth will bore you when you are half way through. Chicken, onion, spinach, and mushroom adds interesting flavour into the dish, but too light for me, so I added...

A supplier suggested we try Amorosa for lunch this week. He'd never been there before but heard it was ok. He obviously didn't read a Tripadvisor review like this one.
This place is just plain awful.... food, service, decor, location, spirit......... really beyond description. There are some food establishments that deserve a second chance - this isn't one of them....

I can't understand how anyone can say the food here is good. My friends and I had chicken souvlaki, and penne with peas/ham in a cream sauce. We started with the calamari, it was okay. The salad with my chicken was soggy and tasteless. I took one bite and left the rest. My chicken was ok....and that is a stretch! The rice was horrible, the potato hard, broccoli was uncooked. I was surprised when we arrived at Amorosa and found it was now merged with the neighbouring Greek restaurant. However, the dining rooms are pretty much totally separate and the italian food was not compromised.

Great value for pasta!
I'd like to give Amorosa more stars - we dine here often. I just find that when I think of Amorosa I think of consistently good food, good service, but nothing that would really set it apart for me. You will want to make reservations, we constantly see people being turned away because there are no tables available.
It's nearly impossible to find parking on the street -...

Always great! My family has been going there for years and we keep going back. Huge portions (my parents take their leftovers home and eat for 2 more days!), great sauces and lots of different ingredient combinations. Or you can choose your own sauce and add-ins. It's a popular place and not overly large, so it's always busy, but you can make reservations. We're never disappointed.
This little place is not much to look at from the outside but once in the door you will find a quaint little place with great food and big portions. The staff was fun and very accomodating. The prices are reasonable, to bad it is a 6 hour drive for me or I would eat there every night.
Great pasta and lots of it...sssshhhh don't tell to many people as it is the best kept secret in New West ;)
Been there once, warm environment, don't remember the taste of the food
Great food for a good price, you don't to pay a lot to get quality & a good size portion.
