Fresh Seafood
I really love this place. it has some great food options. the seafood here is very fresh and tasty. Tried Grilled Salmon and it was delicious. The steaks here are great too. I have tried the Rump Steak and found it to be excellent. They have great service, too!

Average and pricey

Took our son and his family here one night while we were in town. They were accommodating for the 4-year old which is not always the case. The staff attention was average yet ensured that our needs were met quickly. The restaurant was busy, so that may account for some of our impression.

Dissapointing return
April 17, 2014Just came back from dinner and was very disappointed. Large party that came after us received their food first while my 3 yo had no food served for more than an hour. Food was not what we ordered bad cuts of meat and server did not check on us. Expected better. Not coming back.

Bells Corners Location Not OPEN for Lunch
March 26, 2014Having that info on the web site would be helpful, save people like me from wasting our time driving over there. On the site there is a lunch menu, location info etc, but that kind of important detail (not opening for lunch) is no where to be found. Annoying.

Steak was only fit for the trash
March 14, 2014Took my family of 5 to an early dinner last Saturday. We ordered NY Sirloins, petite filets and sides of scallops and lobster tail. None of it was fit for consumption. My 16oz sirloin smelled rancid. It never should have been put on the grill! We will never eat here again.

February 13, 2014Even on valentines day at AL'S a server cannot be respectful and nice. You would expect that for a place this expensive, the service would match up! Not at Al's. The service was terrible and Food took a very long time. I would not recommend it.

The whole place is just depressing from the uninspired and bland décor to the service to the food.
Our server was slow, cold and unfriendly as was most of the attending staff. We waited forever to have her come over and take our order and her attitude more than anything else spoke...

This resaurant was suggested to us because of it's long standing (80 years) in the city. Don't let that fool you.

Amazing that it's still in business

Romantic Atmosphere

Al's Steakhouse is a favourate of ours and has been for the past 34 years.
Service is excellent and the food is always wonderful and cooked to order.
The dim lighting sets for a very romantic atmosphere, accompanied by soft music in the background. Generally suited for the more mature population.

If you are looking for a steak dinner in West Ottawa, this is probably your best bet, after all it is called a SteakHouse, the only other west end SteakHouse in the Keg and that is more for a younger crowd.
This Al's is probably not as good as the one downtown, but I think that is more to do...
