An unassuming hidden gem along this busy main drag in the Mission, Aida's serves up basic, tasty Middle Eastern fare in a no-nonsense, although comfortable, environment. Old standards include a falafel platter with hummus and a chicken shwarma plate. It lacks outdoor seating, but for a quick, easy, and inexpensive meal Aida's is a port in trendy Mission's typically high-priced restaurant storm.
Great food and service, and you've got to try the red pepper dip with pita as a starter. I can hardly wait to go back when I'm in Calgary again.
The food is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I am a born and raised Calgarian and can testify to that. Aida's is always my first choice when entertaining people from out of town and in town. The food has been consistently delicious since the day Aida opened her door. I LOVE AIDA'S!!!
We went there after reading the reviews on this site, sad to say it did not live up to our expectations. The taste was just average, the portions were small, we have eaten at far better middle eastern restaurants in this city. We really liked the desserts though, they were delicious, would only go back for the desserts and not for the main items.
You've got to try the pommegrante dip... fantastic taste, and so different.
small place. good simple food.
Quaint little restaurant with a lovely selection of food. Worth going back many times, for the Muhammara at least!
They got me through my first year of grad school.
Yumalicious lebanese/ med food!
In a city with uber high-end restaurants or cheapie fast food places, Aida's is delicious homemade Lebanese/Meditarrean fare for a decent price.
Great ethnic food. Reasonable prices. Service is mediocre, so make sure you have a good companion with you to chat with while you wait.
This was the best dining experience I've had in Calgary for a while now. I am not middle eastern, yet when I was at the newly renovated Aida's, I felt like I was sitting right in beautiful Beirut listening to the relaxing, capturing music and eating the food that made me feel as though I was family. I remember distinctly telling one of the kind waitresses that I hadn't had a meal this good... more
Excellent food and service! Nice cozy restaurant and large portions.
Excellent food!!! A nice small cozy atmosphere, but most importantly the food is amazing! Good for any kind of crowd, young, old, etc.
Excellent M.E food. Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. You have to make reservations on the weekend. It was a little busy, so the service was a little slow. However, if you aren't in a rush - it's worth it.
