Terrible service, over priced, lack of knowledge, will put you on hold for more than 25 minutes to connect! Consider local company, PLEASE do not use ADT Security! Not worth it.

Do not sign a 3year contract with ADT.
I installed ADT in 2012, but the equipment and wiring was already in the house, they just had to connect it to their monitoring system. When I moved homes after a year, they wanted me to take the contract to my new home or sell it to the new tenants, but in that case, I'd have to renew it for another 3 years.

When we were getting our house alarm installed they sent a tech named Stan which was so useless. He came alone and we had to stay home from work to assist him in wiring the house. He mad a huge mess. he didn't finish the job and had to come back then we had to stay home again away from work. I signed a 3yr contract (approx$450 per yr for monitoring) and specifically told the sales person that I wanted to own the system when the contact expires. He told me I could buy it from them in 3yrs. This wasn't written in the contract and I'm kicking myself because the contract says "equipment remains property of ADT" in small print.
