Toqué! is a 5-star restaurant that you have to visit at least once. And you must select the Gourmet menu - a seven course mystery meal, served with 5 different wines. It's a little pricey...but you only live once !
The service and atmosphere are excellent.
A must on your list of restaurants in Montreal.
Enjoy artistically inspired cuisine at this high-end restaurant.
Toqué! is the gem that single-handedly raised the entire city's gastronomic expectations. A meal here is obligatory for anyone who admires superb, dazzlingly presented food. "Post-nouvelle" might be an apt description for chef Normand Laprise's creations; his presentations are eye-opening, his portions quite sufficient, and his singular combinations of fixings are intensely flavorful. A short... more
Despite the French name of this eatery, the lineage of Normand Laprise's cuisine is strictly Berkeley, which means the veneration of local ingredients, many from Québec). Seared razor clams with marinated shiitakes and roasted salsify, guinea fowl with a turnip galette, and roast leg and braised flank of suckling pig with chanterelles and puréed chervil root (yes, root) are typical here.... more
Restaurant Toque! has been around for a while but still keep a good level of both food and service. I find it one of the best places in Montreal to take a party or to go by yourself and sit at the bar to get the menu served there, and meet interesting people!
I was pleasantly surprised that the atmosphere at this fine dining place was very casual and unpretentious - the waiters wore khakis and plaid shirts. My husband and I went for the 7 course tasting menu which was a great way to try some new dishes which I would have otherwise not ordered off the menu. Our tasting menu consisted... more
Restaurant Toque is a Relais and Chateau property. The level of service was excellent and the food was presented creatively and delicious. It is a great spot to eat for a special occasion while visiting Montreal.

Quail's starter:
The meat so nicely cooked, and sported an impeccable mouthsome.
Only reproach is that I found it a bit bland in taste. The accompanied beet caramel was flavorful and very enjoyable. Spiced mayo was fine on it's own but I would prefer it with other meals, not with quail (I tried patiently enjoying the mix of the mayo and the quail...but nah, it just would not fit!). The...
