Specialties

21 years ago Toqué! opened featuring local produce: a showcase for Quebec's terroir and its suppliers. The ongoing contributions of these artisans is no less important today. We have them to thank for foie gras de canard or salicornia; lamb of heirloom vegetables; seafood or fine herbs. These tireless farmers, foragers and fishermen inspire Toqué!'s cuisine, on which they bestow tastes,... more

Ces infatigables... more

An elegant evening with great food !

Toqué! is a 5-star restaurant that you have to visit at least once. And you must select the Gourmet menu - a seven course mystery meal, served with 5 different wines. It's a little pricey...but you only live once !
The service and atmosphere are excellent.
A must on your list of restaurants in Montreal.

Le resto !

Cuisine haut de gamme en rapport directe avec l' addition.
C'est très bon mais pas vraiment abordable . Soyons réaliste , point d'exclamation

Toqué! is the gem that single-handedly raised the entire city's gastronomic expectations. A meal here has long been obligatory for anyone who admires superb, dazzlingly presented food. "Postnouvelle" might be an apt description for chef Normand Laprise's creations, featured on a short, ever-changing menu with top-of-the-bin ingredients, some of them rarely seen together -- for example, a... more

The standard-bearer for good restaurant in Montreal is this haute cuisine haven which moved in 2004 into a sleek new space outfitted with upholstered walls and hanging wine bottles. Popular dishes like the foie gras appetizer and lamb entree remain consistently superb.

Despite the French name of this eatery, the lineage of Normand Laprise's cuisine is strictly Berkeley, which means the veneration of local ingredients, many from Québec). Seared razor clams with marinated shiitakes and roasted salsify, guinea fowl with a turnip galette, and roast leg and braised flank of suckling pig with chanterelles and puréed chervil root (yes, root) are typical here.... more

The most phenomenal meal we had on our visit to Montreal. We came for lunch, and they offer a fantastic deal of table d'hôte menu.

Overall: 5/5
Value: 5/5 (lunch)
Food: 5/5
Service: 5/5

The way table d'hôte works is that you choose a main course (differs in price based on dish, around 40-55CAD) and get an appetizer and tea or coffee included. I got the trout to start and then the quail. My... more

The best high end dining in town period. The tasting menu with wine pairing was fabulous. Everyone enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and the nicely appointed environment. Our compliments to the chef and the staff. God, the bread was yummy!

Great 7 course tasting menu. Never know what to expect for the next course. Each dish is packed with different texture and flavour.

Quail's starter:
The meat so nicely cooked, and sported an impeccable mouthsome.
Only reproach is that I found it a bit bland in taste. The accompanied beet caramel was flavorful and very enjoyable. Spiced mayo was fine on it's own but I would prefer it with other meals, not with quail (I tried patiently enjoying the mix of the mayo and the quail...but nah, it just would not fit!). The... more

Chef Normand Laprise has opened up the palate of Montréalers and earned rave reviews for his food. He's given a new twist to French-Canadian cuisine by adding elements of Fusion and Asian flavors and incorporating products sourced from local farms. Entrees such as the duck magret infused in raspberry juice and served with eggplant purée or rack of pork with juniper berry or grilled venison... more
