This friendly Italian restaurant directly on the Place d'Youville is open from 7am to at least 2am every day. It's part of a complex that includes Le Capitole theater, and actors, musical performers, and theater staff often come in for a drink or a meal after shows.

There's so much to like about this convivial Italian restaurant. There's the huge menu (24 types of pasta, for instance) and the generous portions, which can make up for the hefty prices of the main courses (most are around C$25). Celebrities show up regularly at this upscale Italian restaurant just outside the St-Jean Gate. The person sitting at the next table may be singing on stage at the adjacent Capitole theater after dinner, or may be in town to promote his or her latest record, film, or play. Ce resto fut l'un de mes préférés depuis plusieurs années. Malheureusement, mes 3 dernières visites furent décevantes. Les jours de fêtes ATTENTION! On risque de vous assoir sur la ''terrasse'' (laissez-moi rire) meublée de chaises RONA des plus inconfortables, et ''cordés'' comme des sardines. 07 août 2014We booked at Il Teatro for our first evening in Quebec City, and were very pleased. Beautiful room in the Capitole theatre building, very competent Italian menu, and gracious staff who were not at all disturbed by our limited French. They learned that one of us was celebrating a birthday and brought a celebratory dessert. Very nice place.

04 août 2014Great meal, great service, beautiful outdoor patio, just outside the gate of Old Quebec City. We had a delicious meal with our children- my husband and children are all cautious eaters and all were delighted with their choices. We enjoyed a seared salmon, a grilled steak, a pasta with shrimp, and two other pasta dishes.
