Open since 1988 and still a contender for the title of best Thai in town, Chao Phraya has a panache that sets it a few notches above most of its rivals, and it gets packed most evenings (reserve or arrive early). Named for a river in Thailand, Chao Phraya brightens its corner of the fashionable Laurier Avenue with white table linens in an atmosphere that is warm and cozy enough that children... plus
Excellent resto !
We had a great evening at Chao Phraya. The atmosphere was good, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious! The owner was also gracious and came by to our table to ask how the food was. When I asked both times to the waiters as what to try in each category, both times I was guided to delicious suggestions. Also, when I was going overboard with my order, I was kindly told that there was enough... plus
I thoroughly enjoyed both the ravioli in peanut sauce as well the seafood pad thai

In the restaurant biz, longevity is a feat accomplished only by the best of the best. Chao Praya has been open since 1988, and has only gotten better over the years. The menu is vast, but the staff is supremely adept at describing dishes and making recommendations. If you can drum up a gaggle of friends to go with you, so much the better. That way you can order all sorts of different dishes and... plus
