Locals pack this Point Grey locale, golden as Charentais melons, that offers haute cuisine without the prices or pretense. The afternoon Grand Thé is a treat; at dinner it’s hard to move beyond those intensely flavoured antipasti (but do, and try the Arctic char, $28, or chicken Provençal, $26). The lemon tart ($7) is a city classic. Chef Essex Balace extracts every ounce of flavour from fresh,... more

It would be great if there could be someway of absorbing the sound a little as otherwise... more

Went for a bite in the middle of the afternoon. Beautiful place. Ambiance was not an issue since we were alone in the place. Very nice staff, good looking and well dressed. And the food was soooo good. My taste buds still dream of the fish soup.
This popular bistro boasts the best casual lunches in the city. The menu features Mediterranean-French cuisine made fresh with local vegetables and fish. Start with warm goat cheese crusted with herbs and served on organic greens and cold gazpacho. Entrees include pissaladiere, curried eggplant, artichokes and squid, and roasted tomato with bocconcini. Pre-packaged picnics complete with a... more
