Since 1992, Place des Arts has been the city's central entertainment complex, presenting performances of musical concerts, opera, dance, and theater in five halls: Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier (2,990 seats), where the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens often perform; Théâtre Maisonneuve (1,458 seats), where the Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal performs; ... more

Went to see the Howie Mendel gala. It was a little confusing as to how to get into the place. We got different instructions from different security people. Anyway, great venue. Fits large crowds very well. Seats were super comfortable. We had mezzanine seat but the view was awesome. Excellent place for large venues.

Will have to watch something here during our next trip to Montreal.

This huge complex is the centre of Montreal's large-scale culture. The buildings themselves are a striking landmark in the Latin Quarter, while their various concert halls and theatres are home to the Opera de Montreal, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and other local companies. The entire complex is linked to the Underground City. The individual halls are the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, Theâtre... more
