the spring rolls here, which i had as an appetizer and regretebly as my main course on rice with pork, were not very good. too crispy.
I have very good input on a LOT of the Vietnamese restaurants in town. Me and my friend went through a period where we toured the city's vietnamese restaurants, critiquing each. Every Saturday and Sunday, and whatever we could manage on the odd week day lunch hour. Really it was pass / fail for each restaurant, though failing doesn't mean it's terrible just that I wouldn't go back, compared to the other restaurants in town. I always order one of 5 dishes to compare each restaurant and here I've had the rare beef pho sine the front of the store says "the world's famous beef soup" or something. I'm not sure about the fame, but it was really good. Not an outwardly looking amazing restaurant, and one of many choices nearby, but very good.

Pho Pasteur is right across the street and claims... more

You can tell right away that most of the people inside the busy restaurant are loyal, return customers. You can order your soup in either their regular size, or large, and either way you get plenty of soup for... more
