Great place for a romantic tête-à-tête

Eight years ago, my wife-to-be (an American native) and I (a La Prairie local) adopted this place for our preferred romantic rendez-vous and we routinely went there until we both moved to Minnesota.

One of my wife's first comments about the place was: "I didn't know pastry could look as good as they taste!"

I understood what she meant when I moved to the USA, where glaze is slapped on top of pastry unevenly and fruits are placed randomly on top of UFOs (Unidentified Fried Objects), etc.

It made me miss my Café-au-lait and the gourmet desserts my wife and I used to share at this top-of-the-class sweet sensation getaway of ours, back there, in La Prairie!

Today, we are back here on a trip and made this our "must go to" place, for this trip and any future ones in Québec. It's located just about half an hour from the USA border (along upstate New York) and it is undeniably La Prairie's best kept secret!

Such a quaint décor and what great variety of mouth watering desserts and chocolate treats!

A must try, really!
