Heavenly croissants in plain, chocolate, or almond are almost as popular as the baguettes that sell out daily. Try savoury tortière, sausage rolls, or chausson—pastry filled with ham and mushrooms in a white-cheese sauce.
Using my Social Shopper coupons, I thought I try Patisserie Bordeaux....an absolute disappointment and no wonder they were on Social Shopper. If their products were that good like that of Thomas Haas, there would be no Social Shopper.
I tried their little individual cakes like cognac, hazelnut, and fromage. All tasted waxy and stale with "refrigerator" taste to it. Definitely not fresh!
Some people are saying "best croissants in Vancouver". I don't know if that's true, as I'm a tourist, but I hope not. Others have said "always fresh". No. I've only been once, on a Sunday around noon. I had a sour cherry frangipane tart, which I would give 3 stars, and an almond croissant, which was stale and deserved 2 stars. The food is definitely not 5 star.
Little french bakery tucked away in between a falafel and pet store. The place is small and it's more of a place where you get a dessert to go. Parking is free but it's always filled with cars. So why try this place out ?
The desserts are awesome !! The place is family owned and operated and they do take pride in their desserts. They don't offer a huge variety, but what they offer is tasty.... more
