Poor Food and Service

I visited Pasta La Vista since I heard so many positive things about this restaurant. I had high expectations coming through the door but they were all dashed as soon as the server brought us our dinners. The food was subpar and not even remotely close to being authentic. Even myself is limited experience in the kitchen can tell the difference between someone who knows truly culinary artistry and someone simply following a recipe book. The service itself was average and not enough to make up for the horrid food. It is unfortunate as the surroundings are nice, the facilities are clean and the atmosphere very inviting. This is an experience I would much rather forget as this restaurant fails to impress.

I have been to Pasta la Vista 5 times in the past 3 years each time right before going to a Moose game, I have found that the food is always great, the staff very accommadating. It is great just to be able to walk over to the game. The only problem I ever had occured the first time I was there, when I thought I'd follow my girlfriend into the ladies washroom, I was in a big rush, and it was... more

Excellent in all regards! Pasta La Vista was an exquisite dining experience. Not a single detail was overlooked and the entire staff catered our every need and question. The lasagna was the best I have had to date, and I have never tasted such a rich and mouth-watering cheesecake. A must attend restaurant for any Italian food lover!

Sauce was very bland, meat was cut too thin, rice was mushy. The price was fairly reasonable but the quality was poor therefore not making it a good value. Had the meal been more appealing the value may have been better.

In a downtown core that at times lacks life, Pasta-la-Vista shatters that mold. On offer here are good pastas and an atmosphere that is bright and inviting. The service is friendly and vibrant. Jazz vibes are the acoustic genre that fill the air, but do not get in the way of good conversation. The good food and the appealing environment make this spot a favorite with local business people and... more

At Pasta la Vista, the highlights are the mostly Italian menu, sparked by an Asian inspiration here and there, and an extensive wine list with several by-the-glass options (winner of Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence). Stick to the classics like Caesar salad or bruschetta to start, or be adventurous and try Asian pork gyoza or chicken spring rolls. Second options are myriad and frequently... more
