Nice Experience
I had quite a pleasant experience here. The food and the wine menu were quite extensive and both were excellent. The desserts were particularly nice. The staff was very helpful and attentive and deserved the large tip we left them.
bad service, good food and music
Went here with GF last Friday night. They didn't have the reservation I made the day before! Long wait before acknowledged by waiter. No one gave us the wine list so we were confused. After food was served, waiter stopped by once but we never heard from him again after that. It was pretty obvious that he slipped out with his friends from the bar for a smoke break! He later gave us the bill when "they had to close that side", but never asked if we wanted desert or more drinks... Food was quite nice, music was great.

My favourite place in all of Ottawa! Paradiso has it all. The menu has a good selection of old favourites (the steak-frîtes is wonderful) and new dishes as well. The wait staff are exceptional - the waiter who usually serves me when I go remembers which wine I prefer better than I do. But of course for music lovers, the main reason to go is the live jazz - mostly musicians from the Ottawa area... more

Cafe Paradiso certainly has its excentricities from the menu to the waiters (and occasionally the clientele!). But that is part of the charm here and the fresh well-prepared food makes the experience more than just a people-watching event. Definitely worth a try!
