Highly Recommended Group

I highly recommend Pacific Mobile Veterinary Clinic. It is wonderful to have such competent and caring veterinarians and technicians come to my home to treat my animals.

won't be there when you need them...

"Mobile Vet"... yah, right.... when it's convenient for them.... but that's only part of the story.
My dear sweet cat Emmie was diagnosed with diabetes by Dr. Malcolm Macartney... well actually he was ready to give up when I asked him.. "do you think she might have diabetes". In other words people... I had to tell him how to do his job.
He pulled out his glucose meter and tested her and sure enough 28.6 (should be around 4). He decided it was okay to wait a week before starting treating her... personally I wanted to start treating her that very moment... or at least the next day.
One week later he and his assistant arrive and one of the first things out of his mouth is "I can't stay long I have a very sick dog back at the clinic". Well gee Dr., I have a REALLY sick cat right here that I am paying you to be thinking about right now.... is what I wish I had said at the time. I was so shocked by his "unthinking" remark I could not respond.
So, I get rushed through the injection process... and the rest is up to me.
Weeks later, he asks me to do several glucose readings in one day and report in to him the following Tuesday, then he would get back to me with advice as where to go from there. He NEVER called me! Not only that... the person who took the message got the information totally wrong... either that or the Dr. didn't take the time to read the message properly.
He finally got back to me 3 days later (Friday) after I sent him a very desperate email telling him things were getting very bad. He suggested that perhaps she was resistant to the insulin because she actually had pancreatic cancer. Unfortunately, this time, I believe he was correct.
The next morning (Saturday) Emmie is dying... she was in pain and crying... I call the "Mobile" Vet... "oh, we don't come out on weekends". Ah, excuse me?, is what I again wish I had said... but I was distraught and crying and said I HAD to have someone come out and stop her suffering. She put me on hold and when she came back she said that the only Dr. available was in surgery but would come out right after.
Two hours later, my friend phones the Vet as I cannot leave Emmie's side, (thank goodness I had two good friends with me at the time), the Vet had either forgotten or just didn't care because the Dr. was on his way to another house call! He was told what was happening and we were told he would be right here. A half hour later, still no Dr. and I had to watch my dear sweet Emmie suffer through a painful death.
My other friend phoned the Vet and informed them that they had taken too long to get here and the cat was now dead.

So I lost my girl last Saturday (May 23rd)... Rest In Peace Emmie my love.

What else can I say... go somewhere else... unless maybe you have a dog... they seem to take priority here.
By the way I love ALL animals.... I am one of those people that prefer the company of animals over humans.
If you have a cat though, go to the Heritage Cat Clinic or the 24 hour Emergency Hospital... in my lifetime experience with cats I have found these two to be consistent with quality care and kind and understanding staff.
The reason I used a "Mobile" Vet this time is because I live with and caregive for my elderly parents who both suffer from dementia... so it is difficult for me to leave the house.
NEVER AGAIN !!!

Love your animals... they will love you more than any human ever will.
