"One of the best places" for an "excellent selection" of "super-fresh" oysters, this "small" West Queen West diner also satisfies with other "gourmet seafood" selections in an "unpretentious", "relaxed" space; it's "nothing fancy", but a "comfortable vibe", "helpful" staffers and prices that "aren't wallet-gouging" further make it "recommended" for a "night out with friends."

Mollusk expert Adam Colquhoun runs a vibrant, fun, and very friendly bar and casual dining room where the fresh on-the-shell fare is superb and as fine as the cooked seafood, sourced mostly from Canadian suppliers. Fish and chips are excellent, pastas are generous, and the wine list features great pairings from Canada and abroad.

A nice place to grab a meal (good fi'n'chi) but I mostly come here for takeout oysters. Always great selection and reasonable service with fair prices. Would be very sad to ever see this place go - a rational criteria for a 4-star rating.

I also appreciate that they are active in the community. Also - great graphic design choices!

...oh and answer your phone!!! We called and couldn't get through ...we're now sitting here and the phone is ringing off the hook...

Hello ....

Sweet god in heaven I love this place. I was here a few weeks ago and shut down the Oyster Boy one night with some friends who live in Toronto and go there pretty regularly. First off, the people working there are the best -- incredibly friendly, knowledgable about food and wine, and very tolerant of our drunken group that wouldn't leave the restaurant until very late. Great crab cakes, great... more

Fusion hot spots beware. Mediterranean mainstays move over. Gourmet pizzerias step aside. In a city inundated with wannabe bistros, noodle houses and trattorias, could our collective appetite for restaurants that look closer to home for inspiration be worthy of a trend?

That’s what Oyster Boy, the latest new hot spot to appear on Queen West’s new restaurant row, is hoping. But don’t expect to... more
