Lovely old theatre with fantastic acoustics

Dependable old Orpheum - once a thriving movie theatre and now THE location for the symphony. Fantastic acoustics. Try to sit up in the Dress Circle in the front row - great seats!

The Orpheum is a great old building that presents so many musical acts.
I only wish the "new" acts would understand that less is more in a building like this. When you can hear a person whisper on stage, 1000w of power seem a bit of overkill for the sound system.

Orpheum Theatre was built in 1927 and restored in 1976 to its former glory. Originally opened as a vaudeville house, it is now a beautiful, much-loved city landmark. Located in the entertainment district Downtown, it is the perfect venue for a glamorous night out on the town, offering a variety of concerts, musicals and ceremonies as well as being the home of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
