Bravo !

Successful hipsters arrive at lunchtime en masse to wait for a table at this bustling bakery and sandwich shop. Owners Dyan Solomon and Éric Girard have a romantic backstory straight out of a movie: they fell in love while working the bread ovens at upscale Toqué! before going out on their own. Fittingly, movie stars like Jake Gyllenhaal, Kirsten Dunst, and musician Bono have been spotted here... more
A neighborhood family favorite, this started out as an earthy bakery, then added table service and transformed itself into a full-fledged healthy-foods cafe with extraordinary kid-approved baked goods. Sample the croissants, scones, biscuits, brioche, or exemplary Morning Glory Muffin (only offered in spring and summer), which features shaved carrot and chunks of pineapple. As for lunch, come... more
Give your feet a rest and your tastebuds a treat at this lively local haunt. A most charming place to grab a quick bite and a café-au-lait. Cram in at a tiny, wooden table with delicate paper lanterns swaying overhead while you munch on a “Viva las Vegans” sandwich with roasted tofu, arugula and hummus and sip a carrot, coconut, lime and ginger soup. Save room for at least one lemon square!
My favourite way to do O&G: late lunch on a weekday, big salad and a glass of wine. If you go here because of hype you're bound to be a little disappointed, it's just a tasty cosy cafe with good food guys, relax. I've always had friendly service, I've always been a little confused by the ordering process, I've always loved what I've had to eat or drink although I do agree the coffee could be... more
This was the first place we went after driving four hours into Montreal. The food was really, really good and our waitress was extremely nice. However, their seating system was a bit frustrating. They didn't seem well organized and we waited for a good deal longer than we were told we would. The waitstaff behind the counters seemed completely uninterested in helping customers and mainly chatted... more

Situated in the heart of Old Montreal, this café is a favorite among businesspeople, travelers and locals. This deli-style café bakes their panini at 06:00 every morning, so get there early before it runs out! Olive & Gourmando is known for their great cold and hot sandwiches. They also sell jams, homemade granola, brownies, spicy nuts and healthy trail-mix. Serving gourmet coffees, this... more
