Couldn't agree more about Northumberland Tire. I had a quote of $600 for front wheel alignment on my old jeep. They said there were some key parts that needed replacing. Checked with another mechanic who said the parts "could" be replaced but didn't "need" to be replaced. Got work done there. Haven't been back to Northumberland since.
this place will tell you you need new tires, even if you don't
I took my car in to get the two rear wheels ballanced, and i I was told that "I will be waisting my money. The tires were defective and ballanceing them would not make any difference", "but if I insisted", they would go ahead and ballance them anyway. They were trying to sell me four new tires for a total of $189.00 each. I could not afford to purchase new tires at this time so I asked them to just ballance the two tires. They did that and I paid $22.00 for the work to be done. I took the car for a short ride on the highway and noticed that the vibration was worse. I just took the car to another shop and had the wheels ballanced again. The mechanic told me that there were no wheel weights on either wheel. They did the job i asked for and now the car ride smooth. NORTHUMBERLAND TIRE is a rip-off shop. I will tell my story to all.
