Great to see the new owner of Niagara Grocery adding local foods and roasting great coffee. The tea selection is super. We stopped by on the weekend to be welcomed by the aroma of roasting coffee.
The neighbourhood grocery store re-invented. Owners Jennifer McKimmie and Ken Winchester refurbished a century-old storefront selling Saanich farm produce, Saltspring Island cheeses, and line-caught halibut along with essentials like light bulbs, milk, and the daily paper. I generally visit this store once or twice a week to pick up some of their delicious coffee (roasted in the store) which is a great deal at something like $8 for 3/4 lb, especially compared with the ludicrous prices some other local roasters charge for their beans (Habit, I'm looking at you).
