Previously we've eaten in the Cobblestone Restaurant a number of times and hat's off to the restaurant chef and staff...food and service are excellent! My issue is with the "Inn" portion of this establishment and I use the term "Inn" very loosely in this case. Our room was slightly larger than a closet with a toilet that wouldn't flush, no garbage can...the list goes on and on. We could literally hear the neighbors talking in low tones clearly as if we were in the same room. In my opinion $200 per night to sleep in a bloody broom closet with no amenities is way past excessive...I've slept in better hostels in my travels for a hell of a lot less. This is tourist gouging at it's finest. The food is second to none but stay somewhere else if you are from out of town!!!
At this hotel dating back to 1908, many of the Mission-style furnishings, wood floors, and claw-foot tubs are original, but plenty of the amenities—heated bathroom floors, fluffy duvets, central air-conditioning—are au courant. It offers very charming rooms (note that some are authentically small), restored to glow with period finery,... more
A few days ago we stayed three nights here for a wedding in Naramata. We had an early flight into Penticton so we arrived to the hotel prior to check in. Jillian was friendly and welcoming. She offered to hold our bags while we explore a couple wineries and provided us with a map. She told us about the few mountain bikes they have for guest use and we decided to go for it. While we chatted with... more
Although I was aware that the courtyard was not attached to the hotel when I booked I found that the "court yard" was a great disappointment. It is very motelish and just not what I expected. I really thought that it would be much more modern or at least charming.
I regret not getting to stay in the inn which... more
Amazing! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. I spoke with Helen many times over the phone while planning the stagette and she was so helpful. We met Toni (the owner) the first night we arrived and she was lovely. Dean (the suite manager) took very good care of us. We were super spoiled!!
