This vegetarian institution hasn't changed much over the years, and the lineups during peak hours indicate that's a good thing. The atmosphere and service are as relaxed (at times excruciatingly slow) as ever, and wholesome food is still served 24/7. Quesadillas ($8.95) and the dragon bowls (from $10.50) are perennial favourites (as is anything with their famous Miso Gravy), but vegan entrées,... more
I remember the Naam vividly from when I used to live in Vancouver, and from every trip I've made to this gorgeous city ever since. After all, where else could you find a full service Vegetarian restaurant open 24 hours and 7 days a week but in Kitslano? It is and was always a popular venue for after clubbing fare as well. Always crowded and servicing the most excellent food, it's worth the... more
This little vegetarian restaurant is located on the West Side of Vancouver along West 4th. The funky decor and tight spaces make it feel pretty relaxed and easy to unwind in. There is a small patio as well for the summertime. The veggie burrito is pretty good while they also have dandelion coffee. The menu offers pretty much anything you'd want in a vegetarian establishment.
I am not impressed by this restaurant. It is full of hippies and posers. I do not see why everyone says the food is so great as vancouver as many other restaurants far superios - and yes - also vegetarian. its the best - relaxed -unuptight place to eat! all the complaints - PEOPLE need to relax!! you're in the wrong place if you aren't!! FAB food, and FAB people that work there - worth the wait and great price!!
Food is awesome. Miso gravy on anything is good. The only issue is the service. VERY BAD. Always a long wait and takes forever to get the bill. But we will always come back when visiting Vancouver from Seattle.
My all-round favorite restaurant, place to go; the food and the ambience feels so comfortable and so good no matter what the mood. Had to move back to Winnipeg though. Can you please please open one here!!??
If a vegetarian could spend eternity in Utopia, he or she would probably live at The Naam. Opened in 1968, this homey place in Kitsilano features live music, a private patio, and an extensive, healthy menu. Fulfill your veggie fantasies with items like Popeye Pita Pizza, complete with spinach, onions, feta and mushrooms. Sample ethnic specialties or old standards like veggie and tofu burgers.... more
