This small museum is off the beaten path and easy to miss. It is in a small building that is beautiful. There is lots of interesting history here although it is primarily in French. It helps if you can read French. The woman working there was very helpful for us by interpreting many things and showing us around.
I think it is worth the trip to this neighbourhood to see McGill and the architecture of the Hotel-Dieu. It is a very small museum so I don't think it is good value unless you have a Montreal Museum Pass. The main lobby has a stunning wood stair case without railings (this is an artifact, it is not in use).... plus
