The Calgary store established an initial presence with a U-Haul trailer full of gear driven out from Vancouver. Initial digs were minimal – a cramped office space above a record store – a far cry from the present location, which is a veritable palace of outdoor gear.

Monsterous!
This is a big store, they have LOTS of outdoor (and indoor) sporting / camping equipment. Best selection around, and clothing rotates through the seasons so there's always something new.
pssst, i have a secret
this store has the best footbags (hacky sacks) you'll find anywhere, but you would probably never guess. Other than that little gem, they are the #1 store for outdoor equipment in my opinion, and many others'. Absolutely the best quality and pricing is reasonable. Lots of variety throughout the seasons too.

I only have gone to the Edmonton store and Calgary store, the Calgary store is better supplied and has a LOT more gear in every category.Service was great.

This is the mecca for bag addicts. There are a bazillion types of backpacks and messenger bags and all of them are well made and comparatively well priced. I haven't been hiking in years but I still come here to get my backpacks for work and travel.Surprisingly, they also have a large selection of cycling gear which I only discovered in recent years.
