@ Menzies Customers Come Last

Had a service related issue with my PT Cruiser years ago. Emailed the dealership about the issue and the response was "Next time your in for service lets sit down and discuss your incident". Really? You think after a bad situation that there's going to be a next time and we can chat? Recognize when your customers are disappointed, correct THAT situation & how to make the customer happy. Do what you can to entice them to come back. Your not selling burgers here guys. These are products worth tens of thousands of dollars. Smarten up and make customer service #1.

stay away from Menzies

the sales department is not good at all check other dealerships first before you decide to go to this place.
if you want a good dealership try Village Chrysler at least they try to help you .Menzies had us sit at the sales desk for an hour to get a price for my 2010 Mazda as i was using as a trade in .......got fed up sitting there decided to leave. the sales person said i will call you in the afternoon did not happen called them was told he will call me back before closing..... that did not happen.... i called them again 3 days later wanting to speak to the owner concerning this matter .......i was told he was not available at that time ....this owner never did call me to see if he could help. so Village sold me my 3rd van from them.......... to bad that head office does not see how this dealership response to a person trying to buy a van............all i have to say is keep up the good work Village see you soon.

Oil Change Gone Bad

On Saturday June 27 my partner brought our 2007 Caliber to Menzies Service Department in Whitby for an oil change. From previous experience with this service department I knew that along with the oil change they top up fluids, check tires and pressure, do a 15 point inspection etc, as I was going on a trip to Florida (which my partner did not mention). On Wednesday July 1st I opened the hood to see if I would be able to change my high beam bulbs by myself (my son's father was there as well). At quick glance I noticed one of the fluid containers was completely empty. At first I thougt it was windshield washer fluid but when I read the tank it was the coolant. My coolant tank was completely empty. I could not understand this as I just had an oil change. I was obviously curious so I went to check the oil. The dipstick wasn't in plain sight. We looked and found it shoved way in, I had to use my tiny fingers to get it out. When it came out it was bone dry. We realized this was because the dipstick wasn't put back properly, because there was oil. I checked my invoice from Menzies #S49501 and it showed oil change, check tires and pressure, inspect and top up fluids, 15 point visual inspection and lubricate shassis and hinges. I was quite shocked but had to wait until the next day as it was Canada day. The next day I took the car to Walmart and asked them to install my new high beams and rotate my tires and please check my oil and coolant levels, but not to do anything only advise me. I did not mention anything about Menzies and the oil change. He came back with some shockers, after only requesting the oil and coolant levels he took it upon himself to check other things, This was his list: Coolant bootle is empty, needs filling, power steering needs topping up, recommend replace air filter, tire pressure off should be 32 is 30, hold down clip missing from air filter, and loose tire rod. He did replace the high beams but they still didn't work. I then call the service department manager Darla at Menzies and said exactly what I have said here. Her reponse to all I had said was "you cannot buy high beam bulbs from anywhere but here." I told her to forget about the high beams and listen to everything else I said. I have severe anxiety and after listening to her tell me that I cannot trust what Walmart says I pass the phone off to a friend before I loose my cool. Darla would not let her speak as well, and Justine told Darla "you are being very aggressive how would you feel if this was you?" Darla said to bring the car in to top up the fluids. I got there and had forgotten to mention the oil dipstick and she looks me in the eye and says "thats impossible" Well then I must be lying. I walked over to the car and showed her everything. Her reponse to the empty coolant tank was "well you know, we use our judgment" and about the tires she said "well 2 points isn't much" By the end they topped up the fluids, gave me a new air filter, replaced my tire rods, found the clip for the air filter, and recommended new brakes. I was then told because I didn't tell them I was going to Florida they just wanted me in and out so they did a quick oil change and they were sorry!!! My partner tells me that when she brought the car in on the Saturday they were all sitting around eating pizza, and said to her "sorry we don't get breaks on the weekend so we order out". I guess they were in a hurry to get back to the pizza. Darla never once apologized for the whole situation. She was only rude and defensive. My partner apparently also called another manager who said to her "Well I don't believe my mechanics would do that but because your the customer I have to believe you." He also mentioned that we cannot trust anything Walmart says. I am on my way to Florida today but I will be investigating this further when I return in 10 days. Jennifer Browning
