Forgive its sci-fi name, for there's no dystopian-future theme to be found here; rather, just a stylishly contemporary hotel with all the bells and whistles. The brand-new Matrix (it opened in 2008) is the sister property to the stylish but more low-key Metterra across the river on Whyte Avenue. Good Hotel
February 22, 2013We stayed here for a conference in January. Some of us did not like the hotel at all, while others found it to be more than adequate. The Wildflower restaurant was very nice, although expensive the meals were well prepared and the service was excellent. The restaurant I was told is not affiliated with the Hotel yet they were attached.... more

Paper thin walls! I heard my neighbours baby crying the first night. Second night there was a woman who talked on the phone for two hours-- I heard her whole conversation. Once she was finished she watched tv for an hour. You can hear everything!!!!!!!!!
Paper thin, scratchy towels.
They never replenished the breakfast. I went at 7am and 8am...

I research the reviews pretty thoroughly before I choose a place to stay, as we have stayed from the really dingy places to some very high-end. The overall ratings were great to excellent so we went with it! It helped that there was a great deal offered the day that I called.
